Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
2011 game vs Auburn following their National Championship. I know I saw some games before then, but I was too young to really care and follow the Aggies. This game had me glued to the couch and Chuckie Keeton, Bobby Wagner, and Robert Turbin were the first players I fell in love with. It was a heart breaker, but I know I am lucky to have experienced the last 8 or so seasons!

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
I don't even remember. My parents had season tickets forever. I was probably a toddler at my first game. I do remember watching games at old Romney Stadium before new Romney was built, but I can't remember the teams.
Trivia question. Where did the Aggies play their football games after they stopped playing on the quad, but before old Romney Stadium was built?

The first one I really remember is 2006 vs Fresno State but I’m sure I saw plenty before that that just weren’t as memorable.

Who(m)ever the first home game of my freshman year of 1978.
Edit. Ags were 7-4 co pcaa champs. 9/23 home game, Fresno. Won 45-22
Guess it was near the end of winning seasons.

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
Been attending games since I could walk in the late 90’s but the first game I can actually differentiate is SUU in 2009 the first decent win I have in memory. I didn’t know the Aggies we’re capable of 50+ points.

My oldest brother took me to a basketball game at the fieldhouse. I think it was around 1969. I remember Nate Williams and Marv Roberts playing. It was up above the cage and remember that it seemed like we were right above them almost looking straight down when the play was near us.

The old HPER Field where the ARC is now. It's why the grass berm was there around the west and north sides of the field.LKGates wrote: ↑May 21st, 2019, 5:54 pmI don't even remember. As for my first game, I remember going to a Utah-USU game as a little kid (in the early 90's). I knew nothing about football, but knew we were cheering for the Aggies and the guy next to me was cheering for the Utes. At one moment in the game, he booed so obviously I cheered. What's bad for the Utes is good for the Aggies, right? He leaned over to me and said "they called a timeout". First memory I have of a USU game.

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
Oh, you children. I had to do a bit of research to refresh my recollection, but my first was when I got to campus as a freshman in the fall of 1968. Win over Witchita State, 38-0.

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
TV would have been late 70's watching Marc Wilson of BYU carve us up. Don't remember where it was played.
Live, in person would have been my freshman year, 1987, but I don't remember the opponent. Just remember we weren't very good so we left at halftime. After that we learned we could show up at halftime and get any seat we wanted for most games. I only went to one or two games a year my first two years in school. I liked coach Shelton as a person but his offensive approach was so dull it was hard to watch, despite having future NFL players like Patrick Newman and Kendal Smith as WR's and a few studs on defense.

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
Oh you child. My freshman year was 1966, the year we were ranked in the top ten preseason, then lost our first 6 games. Won the last 4. But my first Aggie game was in Ute Stadium against the Utes in 1961 Tommy Larscheid ran a punt back for a TD, which Iced the game. USU 17 ewets 6. I was 13.

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
When I was a sophomore in high school, in California, my head football coach got a hold of some free tickets to the University of Pacific (UOP) football game. I grabbed a hand full of them and went to the game with my brother and some friends. Guess who they were playing? That's right, the Utah State Aggies (USU won that night). Fast forward two and a half years and I accepted a scholarship from coach Shelton to play at USU. 1987-1991 were some of the best years of my life and I have been an Aggie fanatic ever since.

Re: What game was your first to watch an aggie game?
I don't rightly remember. I was really young and it was a night game at Old Romney. I remember walking up the hill past the Pi Kap house and the old ivy. Don't remember whom the AG's played. Would have been '61, I think.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I didn't follow Utah State until enrolling in school as a freshman in the fall of 2003. I remember listening to parts of the first three games that season (@Utah, @Nebraska, and @Arizona State), then I attended my first game with my Dad vs. Louisiana Monroe.

In the Fall of 1979 (for both football and basketball) - my first year at USU! I don't remember the specific teams we played or that I saw.

I believe 2007... I'm going to say home opener vs UNLV???
In basketball it was a scrimmage against EA Sports.

I had been to others, but the 1982 game vs yBu. Paul Jones caught a pass over the middle, and outran everyone, (maybe 75 yds?) to put us up by 10. Steve Young threw a TD late, but not enough!

I remember all the news coverage following the water bomb game vs. UNLV. I know I went to many games before that but I grew up going to games with my dad grandpa and great grandpa.

Not the answer I was looking for, but still a good one! Most people don't know that before Old Romney was built, the team played at Adams Field, now Adams Park, just east of Adams Elementary School, on 5th East, between 5th and 6th North.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑May 21st, 2019, 8:54 pmThe old HPER Field where the ARC is now. I just caught that you specified "old Romney". I just explained where old Romney was. I'll work on that reading comprehension.
