Washington St and Oregon combined to beat San Jose State 66-22 in their home games against SJSU. We beat SJSU 62-24.

Based on solely on this year's team i would say we are better than Colorado, UCLA and Oregon State. I would say we are on par with Utah, Arizona State, Oregon, Stanford, California, Arizon and USC. Those team have more talent than us, but on a neutral field I would see those games as toss ups. UW and WSU are better than us.

I agree with this. I think we could expect to go 2-1 vs the bottom 3 on a neutral field 3-4 on the middle and probably 0-2 vs the top. We could beat any of the bottom 10 and I wouldn't be surprised but same goes for losing to any of them (except maybe Oregon State)Aggie84025 wrote:Based on solely on this year's team i would say we are better than Colorado, UCLA and Oregon State. Huh? You guys think we would be in the middle of the PAC 12 but are complaining why we aren't ranked? Those dont match.
If we are truly a top 25 team on a neutral field we would beat the majority of the PAC 12 this year.

This team would compete well for the PAC-12 South title and a Rose bowl appearance

Re: Are we better than any PAC-12 team?
The ranked PAC12 teams barely win a majority of their games in the PAC 12. Part of the problem is that it isn't about one game. Sure, we could beat any of those teams on a given day. Including the applecarts. But it gets pretty hard when you are playing those games week after week after week. We have the luxury of having a bad game against WY, but we could have had a bad game against anyone we've beat this year and still won. If we had a bad game against CO or UCLA even though we are better than them, we'd lose.

Naw, we'd trash the Pac-12 this year. They are a pile of garbage.

Re: Are we better than any PAC-12 team?
I think we proved early on that we could stand on the road against anyone in the Big 10, except maybe Michigan and Ohio State. The same is probably true in the PAC 10. We would likely have a winning record in conference there this year. Our lines would stand up nicely in a single game against just about anyone. The way our lines play and the way we spread the ball around, I suspect we could handle several tough games in a row. Of course, if Love went down, like the starting QB on most teams, we would be in the soup.

Re: Are we better than any PAC-12 team?
The transitive property doesn't work in football. I think in any given game we could beat just about any of the teams in the PAC-12. Playing a full PAC schedule would be a different story, however.aggiesdotcom wrote: ↑November 10th, 2018, 8:04 pmWashington St and Oregon combined to beat San Jose State 66-22 in their home games against SJSU. The way we are playing now we would have a really good shot at being PAC 12 Champions. Go Aggies. It is now a three game season. Hopefully we win out and get an NY6 bowl.

This is exactly what the CFP committee is surely saying, and if our own fan base believes it I guess we can’t blame them for keeping us out of the top 25QuackAttackAggie wrote:I agree with this. Re: Are we better than any PAC-12 team?
The truth is that we don't know because we have only played one good team this season and it was game 1. If I had to guess I think this assessment is probably true which is why I have no problem with the CFP. I think we belong but it is in the 23-25 range until we prove otherwise. Bring on Boise.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑November 10th, 2018, 8:12 pmBased on solely on this year's team i would say we are better than Colorado, UCLA and Oregon State. Re: Are we better than any PAC-12 team?
The best defense we have played was Michigan State. We put more points on them than anyone else this year, including Ohio State. Wyoming was an aberration. I would put this team up against anyone in the west and feel great about our chances.

I hadn't thought about that, but you're absolutely right. The next closest was Northwestern with 29 points, followed by Ohio State with 26, then Indiana and Michigan with 21 each.
