Scrimmage Today!

Post by AggieVoice » March 27th, 2015, 8:15 am

Who's going to make it to Romney at 3? I plan on being there unless work dictates otherwise.

The more important question is who's going to give live updates on this message board while at the scrimmage?

I'll be there, but I really don't think I'm capable of a write up hahaha. You should maybe start a thread where people can start listing what they'd like me (and whoever else is there) to watch for:)

Not sure what this means, but any input you can provide will be greatly appreciated by me. It's impossible for me to attend any of these events being over 2000 miles away.

Oh I posted about Coach Heupel yelling at Coach Boughnight at a practice last week cause Coach Boughnight was struggling when he was signaling in plays. The way I worded it came across as a bigger thing than it really was, it's all good.

Unfortunately I can't be there but if someone can just see:
How Hobbs looks? especially in comparison to Garretson. (so who is 2nd string essentially)
are the JC O-linemen progressing? (Hockel, and brooksby)
Who is our starting safeties?
and how fast is our offense running?

Just figured I'd ask cause someone offered

I can actually answer all of those right now:)

Hobbs looks pretty good buts is definitely 3rd string behind Garretson. Chuckie and Darrell switch off days with the 1's.

Brooksby is very far ahead of Jude right now. Jude has been struggling in the film room and with Web's quizzes. The coaches have names for their players, there is garden plants and there is field corn. Field corn grows on its own and doesn't need to be pampered, while garden plants need baby sitters. Web refers to Jude as the latter. But he shows tons of potential, he's very strong! Just struggling to learn right now. Brooksby should contribute this year.

Starting safeties have been Evans and Centers.

The offense is much more up tempo this year than last year (told to me by Jojo and Hunter). Not Oregon or BYU tempo, but faster still.

I'm good with not being as fast as BYU...they go so fast they have to hold hands on the sidelines and sprint out onto the field together...that's fast.

Great info Thanks!
Excited about a more uptempo offense. It doesn't need to be Oregon speed to be effective. Hopefully Jude can make some strides through the spring and summer. Thanks again!

Its the corniest, most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on a football field. Reminds me of little leaque.

It makes one think they had a tea party in the locker room before they came out on the field.

It really makes me laugh every time too. You would think that a bunch of men having a hand holding orgy on the football field would be against the honor code. They even do it on national TV, so it is disgusting mild porn.

Damn. If true, that's been kept secret better than the bball coaching search. That would be a devastating loss.

I'm guessing (IF it's true) DG found out today or yesterday, because of the scrimmage.

DG found out what, that he quit? Wouldn't that be something he decided, not found out? I mean, if I quit something, someone else doesn't reveal that I quit to me.

I meant that he found out info about Chuckie getting all of the reps with the 1's or something to that extent. Sorry, I thought it was obvious.

Again reminding you guys, I'm not positive. Just thought I'd echo what I heard.

This is exactly why I was hoping the Chuckie to Oregon State rumors were true when they were posted. Cause I would have rather lost him for the only year we were going to have him, than lose DG for the 2 years we were going to have him.

It's like if you have two cars and decide you only need one, you would want to get rid of the one with 150,000 miles on it that isn't gonna last too much longer, but keep the one with 60,000 miles and alot of life left.

Chuckie looked reall good. No gimpyness at all. No knee brace either. It makes me think that he was a big fat faker for the last half season.

Hobbs did not look good. I would put him 4th on the depth chart based on what I saw today.

Mays runs strong. He kept the legs churning and moved the pile a couple of times

Hall and Hervey very cannot catch a ball. They should never, even in a safety valve situation, have a pass thrown to either off them.

DBs looked solid.

I only saw Meyers in for one set of downs at WR. No balls thrown his way.

Offensive line didn't look good to me. A lot of false starts. A lot of bad snaps. Hockel got burned badly on about a 8 yard TFL.

Kicking looked passable. Punting looked passable.

Did not play, that I noticed. Seefeldt, Nelson and Siminoch.

If DG had quit, Meyer would no longer be practicing with the receivers.
