PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
USU- 45
Weber-21
Attendance- 20,363
It's seems like these always pop up just a day or two before the game. I thought I start one with almost a week to spare. I say we still win by 24 but it's not going to be the 60-0 blowout win that many people may want to see.

This sounds about right to me. It does seem like I am talking to a lot more people these days who are going to USU games. We'll see if that manifests itsellf in any meaningful anyway.MetsJetsAggies wrote:Weber 27

Also, I take a pledge here and now not to jump off the ledge if we don't win this game the way we think we should. Playing good FCS teams is tough because they are always good enough to at least make things uglier than you think they ought to be. See Utah, WYO, UTEP, and of course Oregon State (yikes) in week 1. If we lose, however, I refuse to be held responsible for my actions.

We could score more, but Gary takes to running the ball (see BYU game last year with like 50 rush attempts) to wear out the clock and slow the game down.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
Yeah, Weber isn't a bad ball club at all. I just hope we come out wanting to WRECK people. Step on their throats, don't let up, show the home crowd that these Aggies are no doubt for REAL. I would love to see us win by 40+ points and while it's possible we do, it probably won't happen. Our defense still has some issues in the secondary and I think Weber will be able to put up a few points. I don't think the game will ever be in doubt at any point though.GeoAg wrote:This sounds about right to me. It does seem like I am talking to a lot more people these days who are going to USU games. i don't care about our points scored. Must hold Weber to 17 or fewer for me to be happy.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
This is an extremely worrisome game. Aggie fans should not be expecting a blowout.
That was as tough a loss as any of these players will ever experience. It is not an easy thing to refocus after a letdown like that. Remember what happened to Virginia Tech last year after losing to Boise. They came out and got beat by James Madison the next week.
Weber was no cake walk before the Auburn game. Now, I expect a dogfight. The aggies cannot think that they will dominate just by taking the field. They had better get up and better get prepared for this game, not lick their wounds thinking about what might have been, or else Weber could easily win this game.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
The difference there is that Va. Tech needed to win that game to keep any Nat'l Championship hopes alive. We aren't playing for a BCS championship quite yet, and losing to Auburn won't deter us from reaching our goals this season one bit. This team shouldn't get down on itself after that game that they were "supposed" to lose, one where they absolutely manhandled the defensing national champions on their home field . They will come out ready to kill people Saturday, I would put money on that.Chatman wrote:This is an extremely worrisome game. Aggie fans should not be expecting a blowout.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
some wsu fans might not be too happy to read this (which i could careless about) but since marrying an aggie in 2005 ive had free usu season tkts for the past 6 yrs. since the wife supports my teams i support her's except for that one day a yr which is twice this yr. i honestly only hate byu for the instate. ill add utah if they really arent coming back to the dee as they are now in the big bad pac 12.
ill hope for a 1978 which means weber beats usu in both football and bball but lets talk football for now.
im hoping for a game in the 4th quarter. no score prediction from me. i think attendance will be 21,000+ which would be impressive against an fcs opponent as well against none of the following - byu, utah, boise.
http://wildcats.bigskyfans.com/viewtopi ... 485#p20733
its a rare game, both sides should be excited about it, a team that is only 50 miles away that isnt idaho st. as well only the 2nd meeting since 1984.
im excited for the game!

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
Reading the posts in this thread which, with an exception or two, predict a USU blowout over Weber State, makes me very
nervous. There must be a lot of people in this forum who think Wyoming is not very good. They had to score late in the
game to pull out a win. Weber State played very well, and demonstrated that they are no cupcake. In my opinion, they
will come to Logan highly motivated to knock us off, and frankly I think they are capable of doing just that. Oh, wait, sorry,
the title of the thread asks that we predict a score. I won't. I just hope USU wins. I'll be there to watch and see.

2. You are right, Weber State has some good players and can knock us off if we don't come out with the same fire as we did against Auburn
3. If we do come out with the same fire, the game won't be all that close.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
IMO, 1)The Team will remember what happened last Season with La Tech. 2) The Team is different this season, they know they have potential, there is more desire to win. 3) GA Played for Ronnie Mac, he knows the man and what his teams are capable of. 4) I'm positive GA and staff will make sure this team is not looking past Weber, they know their track record and how good they can be. I was worried about this game before the season started, after last Saturday my questions have been answered.

Let's see if there is anything to collective wisdom. So far, with 19 countable responses (I'm including one "looks right to me" as the duplicate of the previous post, and I'm even including LemonCustard's first set of numbers), we have an average of USU 44.4, Weber State 20.9.

Now Im in no way saying Weber will win, I dont expect them to, but I dont think for an instant that it will be a blowout.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
This could go either way. If our players use the disappointment of the Auburn game to get them fired up then I believe that this game will get ugly for Weber really fast. If the players are still moping over the loss at Auburn then it could end up a lot closer. I still don't see USU losing it though and I'm going to go with the first scenario here and predict 41-14.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
I'm impressed with how they played the pukes...pokes. I'll go with 27-13. I think our defensive is better than people think. It's impossible to keep up with those SEC athletes. I also don't think we'll play as aggressive, going for every 4th down no matter what, fake field goals, etc.
Attendance should be 20,000+. It seems like everyone is planning on going and the Auburn buzz helped.

Re: PREDICT THE SCORE- USU vs Weber
After watching the Auburn game I just don't see Weber stopping our offense. I see a lot of those 7 to 12 yard outs and runs turning into 20 to 30 yard plays with the contrast in talent and speed disparity. I see our offense going for no less that 35 and likely near 50. The only question is can we stop Weber. We did good most of the game at stopping Auburn, except for when they threw the ball. I don't see Weber having the kind of athletes that can run and cut and break tackles like Auburn. Soooo to make a guess......

If I remember correctly there was about 8 inches of snow for that game. Its not going to snow for the game this year, and Weber is not going to win either. It will not be an easy game, but the Ags are going to win.
Clark, I'd like to try to fumigate this here chair, it's a good quality item. If you don't mind my askin', how much did she set you back?
