Secret Weapon for BYU?
Do any of our linebackers have any experience in high school at the Running Back position? If so it's time to unleash the beast. GFA know's what I'm talkin' about.

I alluded to this after the Weber game, I'm guessing that even if we had, we wouldn't be using him anyway. OH well.

Re: Secret Weapon for BYU?
Wanting to see our tight end #11 line up in the backfield. He is listed at 6’3 270. He must be able to run a bit if he is playing tight end. Don’t know if he can catch, because he’s a tight end at UTAH STATE.

I'd line a random big boy up back there for a play just to see their coaching staff have flashback nightmares. Wait a second.... We have Levi...

Honestly, Legas might be the secret weapon this time with his ability to run along with a few good players that can run the ball. I suspect that Broc Lane could be also a secret weapon since he has been improving the whole time after coming back from his injury.

Doesn't Max Alford match the description? I thought he played rb at Park City High School and is now playing linebacker.

You should have seen Parker Buchanan running over people at BE from his QB position. Tough and reasonably fast.SLB wrote: ↑September 26th, 2022, 8:41 pmHonestly, Legas might be the secret weapon this time with his ability to run along with a few good players that can run the ball. Maybe you use Larson. I don't care if they play LB, I want the ball in the hands of my best athlete. Think Eric Weddle at Utah.

I agree, if Banda isn't going to give a play maker like Ike more time, Tucker should try him at WR. He can stretch the field with his speed, The Kid makes plays.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑September 26th, 2022, 11:43 pmMaybe you use Larson. This is my beef with Tucker. Our offense could be at a similar level where it was last year if we had the right scheme and plays and personnel on the field for the offense.Hoot wrote: ↑September 26th, 2022, 9:57 pm“Anthony Tucker has left the chat”SLB wrote: ↑September 26th, 2022, 9:21 pmBuchanan looks good. Re: Secret Weapon for BYU?
Max Alford looks like future 1st string LB as early as next year. The dude has size, speed, makes open field tackles, makes plays when he plays, and he is returning from an injury.

Re: Secret Weapon for BYU?
The tough thing with Buchanan is he isn't quite there strength-wise, so it's tough to leave him out there for long stretches of time and it limits his effectiveness run blocking. Buchanan is young the strength will come with time in the weight room.SLB wrote: ↑September 26th, 2022, 9:21 pmBuchanan looks good. Re: Secret Weapon for BYU?
Max Alford will definitely be a stud before he is done here. We still have Tafisi and Vongphachanh for one more year, so it might be tough for him to break into the starting lineup in 2023. Josh Williams also has a TON of upside at linebacker.

Precisely. Broc Lane, Ron Tiavasu'ue, Josh Sterzer (once he's healthy), and Parker Buchanan. I would say that Alford may crack into the starting lineup in 2023 because he is that good. Most likely that he is the rotated LB in 2023 that takes over 2024. Aggies play their cards right and they might have a shot at a stud LBer who also plays FB/TB... and is getting a lot of local buzz... they'll have to wait 3+ years though
