Favorite game of Hawaii Series
One of my favorite all-time Aggie games was the 2011 game at Hawaii! So many great highlights. What an amazing comeback.

That game is the reason we’ve been successful the last decade. Cemented my Aggie fandom for life, too. I remember being in my off campus apt up at 2:00 am trying to contain my excitement so I wouldn’t wake my roommate!

Favorite game of Hawaii Series
Love that video. What a great game. Still have no idea how Morrison caught that pass. Honest question folks. So that video has nearly 2650 views. How many of those were from each of you? I’d say I’ve probably watched it 30 times. Maybe 10 times that first year and about twice a year since then. How about you?

On a side note I love HAW's announcer, I could listen to him all day. He left this life too early.

100% honesty, I bet I've watched that 100 times.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑October 25th, 2021, 6:57 pmLove that video. What a great game. Still have no idea how Morrison caught that pass. There were a lot of solid players on that 2011 team. Seeing Turbin makes me wish he would have had a better opportunity in the NFL to be the featured RB.

His one chance was blown when he sprained his ankle in pre-season when Lynch left the team. He had been a solid backup and I think would have won the starting role.

And a number of us waited until AFTER Hawaii's failed desperation lateral play to celebrate.

Wow, a defense that can take care of the option
I love that game and I love that highlight video. Just watched it again.

Re: Favorite game of Hawaii Series
So many incredible plays from that video, but my favorite will always be Wagner slamming a dude into the turf on the desperation lateral play (5:04 mark of the highlight video). Loved Bobby deciding that guy was not going to be a part of the play haha. That 2011 team had some players.
Also, we ran 2 fake punts in one game?! GA was always extra conservative (GA 2.0 definitely was) so seeing that surprised me.

Re: Favorite game of Hawaii Series
That video almost brings tears to the eyes.
So many tough season.
So many years sitting in empty stadium.
So many coaching changes.
So many close calls.
So many what if or we should have's.
That team was so fun. Matt Austin will always be one of my favoite WR. Beast hand, high IQ, high point the ball. Wagz, Chuckie, Turbo, Mckade Brady (still pissed about BYU ejection) , Nevin Lawson, Coach AL, Chuck Jaacobs, Adam Kennedy. Bojay. An announcer take can get our names right.
The Stanley Morrison catch. The fake punts. The 4th down stops. The tipped balls. It all felt like for the 1st time luck was on our side.

It was the first time luck was on our side. It was something special. I still relive that game 10 years later.

Re: Favorite game of Hawaii Series
He ran a fake field goal against Auburn that year on what would have been an easy chip shot. It worked and turned into a TD a few plays later putting us up by 10 late in the fourth quarter.aggietime wrote: ↑October 26th, 2021, 9:04 amSo many incredible plays from that video, but my favorite will always be Wagner slamming a dude into the turf on the desperation lateral play (5:04 mark of the highlight video). I was convinced Hawaii was going to score on that play. We'd found so many ways to lose over the last twenty years I felt it was inevitable.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑October 25th, 2021, 10:03 pmAnd a number of us waited until AFTER Hawaii's failed desperation lateral play to celebrate.

Re: Favorite game of Hawaii Series
An amazing game in 2011. So it began a rise we had all waited for for so many years.
How did that switch flip? No guarantee it would have but it did.
I am happy to see an administration supportive of athletics. Thanks to the donors. Thanks to the coaches who are here. Most of all thanks to the young people who came and continue to come to the special place we all think of so fondly.
That was a night well worth the light sleep.
