Post by treesap32 » November 15th, 2010, 1:50 pm

How hard would it be to make the default behavior for hyperlinks be to open a new tab? I know I prefer it this way as do others on this board. Kind of annoying to be routed away from the site each time you click a link. JMHO. :noidea:

This is done. I never noticed it. I guess I'm in the habit of clicking with my scroll wheel whenever I want something in a new tab.

Which links were not set that way? :headscratch: I thought we had every link in the drop downs already set this way. The only links that have never opened in a new tab for me are the news links.

It was for links that people put in posts on the forums. They opened in the current window.

There seems to be an issue still. I had a theory as to why it was happening, but i'm not sure now... Please try the links in this thread...

Links that take you to another thread in the forums keep you in the same tab. I think that's probably the best behavior to have.

My preference would be to have any link clicked from within a message create a new tab.

I switched it earlier. All links should be opening in a new tab now.

That is a browser setting. Somewhere in the preferences it asks you if you want new windows to open in a new tab or new window.
