The Wartburg College Knights were ranked #4 coming into the season after 2023's campaign which went undefeated until falling 27-34 in the semi-finals to eventual runner up North Central (IL). The Knights are 1-0 this year after last week's 38-24 win at Monmouth. Senior QB, Carter Markham led Wartburg to the win with 25-40 passing for 301 yards 3 TD 0 INT and was also the leading rusher with 59 yards and a TD on 11 rushes
The St. John's University Johnnies were ranked #14 coming into 2024 and fell short of last year's playoffs with 8-2 record. The Johnnies hosted Carthage last week and won 49-0. Senior QB Aaron Syverson (Colorado State transfer) led SJU with 20-25 passing for 282 yards 4 TD 0 INT and was the 2nd leading rusher with 38 yards and another TD on 4 rushes.
