WTHCG comes from NCAA Division 2 Championship Playoffs this week and the matchup on the surface looks to be a metallic matchup, but it's really Gorillas at Bulldogs.
The Pittsburg State Gorillas are making their second appearance in 2022 WTHCG - they beat Northwestern Missouri 24-22 in week 6. The Gorillas are 11-0, ranked #4 in the division and just beat #13 Indianapolis 35-0 in the first round of the D2 Playoffs last week. Gorilla Sophomore QB Chad Dodson Jr was 18-26 for 255 yards 2TD 1INT and got sacked 2 times in the first round playoff game while their rushing game struggled with sophomore RB Caleb Lewis gaining 15 yards on 11 rushes
The Ferris State Bulldogs come into the NCAA D2 Playoffs second round at 10-1 after their first round 41-7 win over #25 Davenport. Ferris State lost 21-22 in week 6 in a home game against current #1 Grand Valley State. That game is known as the Anchor-Bone classic and drew a record crowd in Big Rapids, MI this year and the result knocked Ferris State out of the #1 ranking in the D2 poll. In last week's opening round of the playoffs, the Bulldogs scored 35 unanswered points close out the game. Bulldog Junior QB Mylik Mitchell was 9-18 for 155 yards with 3 TD and 2 Sacks and also rushed 10 times for 27 yards. Junior RB CJ Jefferson added 71 rushing yards on 6 carries.
