Since all the "+1" or "+1 million" posts are getting on some folks nerves, I wonder if a "Like" (nods to facebook) or a "+1" (nods to Google) button would be difficult to implement. Maybe even a thumbs-up/thumbs-down option. Could maybe even be used to keep stats on users and generate some kind of rating.

IIRC - there was a "rating" feature over on the Scout board at one time, and someone (I ASSumed it was one but it may have been a few) made a point of giving poor ratings to those who were of the liberal political persuasion.

Seriously, though, the Scout board had a "Nominate" button for Post of the Day, but it didn't seem to ever do anything.

I think the "Thumbs Up" or "Thumbs Down" button might be fun, but I'm not going to cry if we don't get one. It is occasionally amusing to troll utefans.net and see how low I can get my posts to register, though.

This is something that would probably have to be built from scratch but I can look into how difficult it would be to do it.

I say no go on this.
