Re: Miller 1st half: 0-5 fg, 0-4 3pt

I hope this kid has very high self esteem because if he doesn’t this could have a potential tragic ending. Before you post, imagine if this was your son. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If he were my son I imagine he would have lobbed an alley oop pass to Queta on that 3 on 1, or at least that's...

Re: Miller 1st half: 0-5 fg, 0-4 3pt

I think it’s easy to forget, Miller was a big factor in the game at SDSU being as close as it was but has since struggled. Watching the game last night, there is something to say about the gravity he commands from defenses. FWIW Brock would’ve had 1 3pt field goal had Sam not “committed” a “charge”...

Re: Kuba and Bairstow

It feels like Bairstow's turnovers are lost on his attack to the hoop because he doesn't have strong hands for this level quite yet but that really isn't much different than a missed shot at that point because he doesn't lose it every take. Porter's turnovers are generally the opposite and outside ...

Last year reminded me how fun it is when the team you support wildly exceeds your expectations. I'm glad you are able to experience this sensation this year. Every fan deserves it.

Re: Kuba?

While I don't think Kuba should be taking any 3's, the fact that he took one that was wide open shouldn't be too upsetting. He'd have to take and miss 3 more of those per game to do worse than Miller but if one of those 4 goes in, we suddenly have an unguardable Miller at 7 foot 2.

The conference needs to add a member, divide it into North/South or whatever and play home/away vs. division and alternate venues with non division for a total of 16 conference games.

Queta does go in and take up wide positions that make me cringe on every rebound and defensive play. The last minute injury appeared to be a fluke play with the SDSU player losing his footing independent of anything Queta was doing.

Re: So we went from probably needing to win the MWCT...

When you have some quality wins (LSU/Florida) then you are given some forgiveness for 1 or 2 bad losses like AFA or even Boise. In years past, 1 or 2 bad road losses was the disqualifier because we never had any good OOC wins. I would think if we win out other than 2 losses to SDSU, assuming the MWC...

Has anyone done the math on the payback time and annual installments for a new basketball arena? Also, how many seats do we really need in a new facility? If we were to ever build a new arena, I would think 8,500 to 9,000 is a more right sized arena, with a few suites, more leg room and modernized ...

Re: Biggest Frustration last night

I agree with all points AF makes. It pains me to watch our offense not run screens off or on the ball for Merrill. Our offense feels way too forced. Every possession at this point should go inside-out through Queta. Miller should stay back on Defense if there is any hint of a team fast break. He jus...

I’ve never seen college kids blow such a large lead with such little time left. To lose a game you never trailed in regulation is an insane stat. Only Utah State could manage such feats.

I was glad to see us run an offense. It felt like during the losing streak we made no attempt to work the ball around from the inside out. Things sure opened up last night and it felt like Bairstow played a role in putting forth the effort to play team ball.

I think the hardest thing for me is watching the negative body language and what I perceive to be a lack of effort. If you play hard and just get beat by a better team, that is one thing. When you don't put in the effort and hang your head, that is another. This team is soft. It is unathletic. Nobo...

I have no choice but to greatly lower my expectations as well. Two months ago I thought the Sweet 16 was a real possibility. But now, at 13-5 and 2 bad road conference losses, really our only case scenario for an at-large might be running the table with only 2 more losses to SDSU. That would put us ...

What are the rules on medical grey shirts? With the season in a free fall perhaps we could apply for Queta and have him another 3 years. It's sad what has happened to his physical dominance, let the lesson be not to play for your national youth teams. FIBA sucks.

Speaking of Brito, what has happened to his shooting? He has the 4th most FGAs on the team, and yet his TS% is dead last on the team (unless you include Stall). Brito went from shooting a solid .396 from beyond the arc last season to a putrid .274 this season, and his TS% has plummeted from .567 to...
