Re: 2022/23 games scheduled. UCONN, Weber, Idaho State

I actually think this is the perfect type of Team you should be scheduling as one of your non-conference games. We already schedule BYU every year and then a money game. I think it is super important to have another game against a division 1 opponent that is a very winnable game for us. I don’t dis...

Re: Whos the next OC

On the “Aggies” theme, don’t rule out UC Davis offensive coordinator, Tim Plough. They have had the best offense in the Big Sky since he took over as OC and he’s considered a top young coach. https://ucdavisaggies.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/tim-plough/646 Interesting. Sounds like Chris Pete...

2022/23 games scheduled. UCONN, Weber, Idaho State

Unless the UConn football series comes with a home-home basketball game as well, I’m not that excited. If we are trying to just schedule a win against another G5 school, I’d just as soon schedule one that is closer. Maybe a directional Michigan school, Tulsa, UTEP,.... [emoji23] In all honesty it’d ...

Re: Whos the next OC

When your QB is constantly faking hand offs to an invisible running back, it’s a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If we would have just handed it off to that invisible running back occasionally I think we would have done better in the red zone. I hear that trick play is difficult to stop.

Re: Whos the next OC

Tbh I think Paul Peterson could be a good fit. Eastern Washington had the number 1 offense in FCS this year (ypg of 525). Not sure what their OC is like but could be worth a look. I doubt Gary would bring back McGiven just because he wouldn’t hear the end of it but I’m also curious why everyone is s...

Whos the next OC

My choice for the next OC is already on staff. He was in the booth all season and saw first hand how bad Sanford was. Who is this person you speak of? I’m guessing Jason Phillips. He was our passing game coordinator this season but has prior experience as an OC at SMU and Houston. Maybe promote Phi...

There is no reason for him to risk further injury with millions of dollars at stake.
At this point I don’t think he has increased his draft stock so maybe he sits most of the rest of the year and comes back to USU for his junior season.

I’m guessing he’s headed to a big time P-5 program. Either SEC or maybe Big-10. I was really impressed with him in our game. Thought he looked better than JLove in that game tbh. The only way SDSU gets a 3 seed is if they sweep us in league play. Hopefully we can at least split with them.

It’ll be interesting if Kuba is inserted ahead of Dorius once he comes back. Regarding SDSU’s wins, Iowa will likely drop and get beat up in the Big10 because their star point guard (Bohannon) just hung up his shoes for the rest of the season and elected to have hip surgery and seek a medical redshi...

which FR from last yrs class need to take a big step for next yr?

Bryce Mortenson at TE. Repp was a real weapon this year and even though we will have a boatload of senior TE’s next season (Terrell, Lee, Manu, Boman) I don’t think any of them are near the receiving threat (size/speed/hands) as Repp was. Mortenson was such an all around athlete in high school. Firs...

Texas Tech starting QB Jett Duffey has entered the transfer portal. Not that I think it would happen, but it’d be funny if last week’s rumor was Love heading to TT and in the end their QB comes to USU.

As a freshman at USU in 1991-92, I experienced the Spectrum for the first time and grew to love attending the games. The funnest game that season was the night that rival UNLV came to town. Lavalle to transfer

There’s got to be a good reason why the staff was trying to convert him to D-line. Gary and Ena are both very seasoned and smart defensive guys. Bean’s mid range game and finishing at the rim has vastly improved. It’s quite remarkable to watch some of the buckets he was making in the San Jose game as compared to last year.
