Re: Holy Utah Jazz
Another great performance from Bojan tonight. He seems to have found his groove. Royce Oneal also looking really good. I am not going to predict a title, but the Jazz are going to be a damn tough out against anyone. With the Clippers losing tonight, Jazz once again have the best record in the NBA. ...

Re: Max number of tournament teams down to 10?
Has the MWC officially banned fans from the tournament? I have not been able to fine information one way or the other. I don't think anything official has been said, but don't plan on being able to attend. Unless the MW dramatically changes course between now and then, it will only be close family ...

That didn't last long. https://twitter.com/akaggie/status/1357111028861968385 Not gonna lie, this is pretty underwhelming. I thought the new staff would be able to bring in some better talent, this is a clear sign that they swung and missed on several bigger targets. Crossing my finger that it's a ...

Re: My Stab at a Pre-Spring Depth Chart
I know that obviously this depth chart could look very different come fall, and some of these transfers won't pan out, but seeing the depth chart laid out like this makes me realize that nearly every spot that I was worried about after last season at least has some potential to improve with new face...

Re: Max number of tournament teams down to 10?
I actually believe that Weir is a decent coach, but he's done a poor job of building the program and has had some pretty awful luck along the way. He spent a bit too much time going after kids who had stars by their names that didn't work out elsewhere, just to discover there was a reason they didn'...

Great news. More fans are going to be allowed in the Delta Center. Hopefully that number keeps going up and there will be a rocking arena by playoff time. https://www.deseret.com/sports/2021/2/1/22256774/vivint-arena-increasing-number-of-fans-allowed-utah-jazz-games Fantastic news. Re: Expectations
Going into last season, I felt pretty confident that the team was going to be horrible, and my prediction was two wins (I guess I was too hopeful). I'm interested to see how some of the new guys look in spring ball, and I'll hold off getting too hyped until then, but I'm much, much more hopeful this...

Re: Holy Utah Jazz
This Jazz team is special, and I don't know if I've ever had so much fun watching basketball. If they can stay healthy, I really think they've got as good of a shot as anyone at the title this year. Elite offense, elite defense, a solid bench with the likely Sixth Man of the Year, excellent coachin...

Re: Rudy Gobert - New Contract
This Jazz team is really, really good. I think they may well end up being the best Jazz team since the Stockton and Malone days. They've finally fully leaned into the analytics, and they're perfectly built to play analytical basketball.

Re: Rudy Gobert - New Contract
People who don't at close attention don't see how Rudy affects the game. He has an enormous impact on the Jazz, and they are demonstrably better when he is on the floor. I know I have bias as a life-long Jazz fan. But when I'm talking basketball with someone, I measure how much I trust their basket...

For the life of me I can’t figure the Heupel thing out. He not only was terrible here, he’s been average to bad everywhere he’s been. I’m happy for the guy because he just got set for life, but I would be losing it right now if I were a Tennessee fan.

Re: Interesting GA article.
I’ve said this before, but I really believe that Robinson fully turned on USU with the Gensel thing. Gensel is a close personal friend of his, and he was very angry (perhaps rightfully so, I still haven’t heard all the details) and has since done everything he can to paint Hartwell in a negative lig...

I hope he does well and works his way back into the coaching ranks. He always came across to me as a really good, hard working dude who really wanted to win, but he clearly wasn’t ready to be taking over an offense. Auburn will be a good spot for him.

Re: Wyoming Beat Nevada Both Times
It's pretty incredible to me how many great coaches are in the Mountain West right now. Jeff Linder was an excellent hire by Wyoming, I agree that I think he's got them on the upswing. The league overall seems to be moving in the right direction. True although a few traditionally great programs hav...

Re: Doubleheaders v. home/home
Typically with a normal MW schedule, teams will play on, say, Wednesday, then have a full, hard practice on Thursday, a light practice with film on Friday, and a shoot around on Saturday. Now with just a day between games the full practice goes out the window. 90% of adjustments that teams are makin...

I know that USU has had several cases of claimed nepotism in recent years (Luke Wells, the Finkbeiners, Tarvish, etc.), but I think that in all of those instances you can at least make the case for the party in question to be qualified the job. They at least had backgrounds in their hired position a...

I feel for he and Gary. It's a tough business and this would have been a crappy year to have to perform through. I do however think it's pretty lame to act like there's a problem with John because they moved on. Seems like Gary was given the benefit of the doubt in a lot of ways. It was a real snak...

I admire the perseverance and the willingness to play through craziness, but you're probably right, at some point the hassle isn't worth it. I can't even imagine how expensive it is to relocate a full basketball team for an entire season, and logistically it's just a nightmare. Their women's team pl...

I absolutely love attending USU volleyball games and I think they made an absolute home run hire for the new head coach. Can’t wait to see what he can do.
And I could be wrong, but I do believe the plan is to play their games in the Spectrum this season.

This is a massive, MASSIVE get. Rice was the preseason MW DPOY and transferred when it looked like the MW season was going to be canceled. He's an instant starter, and very well may be an NFL guy. I'm so hyped about this, what a get by Anderson.
