Re: Pro Day??

Jalen is a little undersized and not a speed burner. Teams will look at his tape which I think will look pretty good. So maybe late rounds? He might actually benefit from not being drafted. That way he can pick the team where he has the best shot. Davis's numbers compare favorably to Nevin Lawson, ...

Re: Spring Scrimmage Reports 3/16

Has DJ taken any snaps as QB? I'm not saying he was ever a better option than who we've had, but just wondering if he's ever gotten snaps at practice? If he's been horrible this isn't an option but we've seen Wells play situational FB with the QB. If it was me instead of Spicolli? I'd make a package...

Re: Coach Smith article on Transfers

Smith has some good answers. Love the way he communicates. Uses stats and details so he sounds credible, then he mixes in his opinion and makes his point.

I'm not so bummed, the guy is sharp.

Re: 2019 USU Football Offer and Commits

I see we have offered a defensive player from Pittsburg HS. The Pitt player we need is Willie Harts III. He's received offers from SJ St, FSU, BYU. Believe me we don't want to see him playing for an opponent. Here he is in the California State Championship game. http://www.maxpreps.com/video/watch.a...

How about the HURD president spend a little time with the players and get a new walkout song to start. Time for Crazy train to take an old rail spur. Noooooo. I love it that the sporting masses are being subjected to my music. HAhahaahah (in Ozzy's crazy train voice.) NBC played Iron Man in their O...

Re: Presser Notes

I get that Spenser is a really good guy and could possibly turn into a great coach, but at this point you turn the program over to Smith and let him do his thing. If that includes Spenser great, if not, fine. I'm more worried about paper cuts.

Losing Kobe on the other hand...

He is so fun to listen to. He seems like a great coach and even better person whose players would take a bullet for him. Re: 5 interviews per SL Trib

Kurt Kragthorpe is doing some in depth reporting on the USU coaching search and did some research. It's a good article with lots of info. "Utah State athletic director John Hartwell has scheduled as many as five interviews this week at a centralized location in his search for a basketball coach, ac...

Thanks for the fact check intermeddler.

Isn't it the coaches responsibility to put players in positions to succeed? Clearly the kid can kick but for some reason everyone but Wells knew he couldn't in that game.

Re: Hartwell should fire Wells too

I saw a team that lost 2 games it should have won because of the coaching. Offensive side of the ball specifically. And, how long are we going to continue to lose games (big games) because we can't kick a FG? You'd figure that missing a trip to the Orange Bowl would be a motivator? Nope. Our kicker...

Re: Some Perspective on Duryea

Most people seem to think this change will make the team better. I'm skeptical. Especially since it appears that the AD didn't have a guy targeted. It was a good spin by the AD to point out the fan apathy and the direction of the team. What about the actual coaching? I'm kind of curious where the ti...

Re: Some Perspective on Duryea

Duryea had a significant challenge ahead of him. Somebody had to crack the Stu mold. Tim seemed to understand that playing Stu ball wasn't the best path forward, and he had the huevos to make the change. Or maybe he just didn't have the horses. I can't blame him for going about his business like he ...

Re: The sound argument for firing Wells

I think there's enough of a sample size to know what Wells is. Wells is an average, to slightly above average, college HC. He doesn't excel at anything. He does a few things well, many things mediocre, and a few bad. Wells has done a nice job building skill on the perimeter. Sharp, Robinson, and Ta...

I think we were better team than our record this season. But, I also have to tap the brakes a little and remind myself that there has been a lot of change, and our record improved.

Re: Where the f was the defense?

Yup. That AF offense was really hard to figure out. The QB only had 4 passing attempts and no completions going into the game. After 20 carries or so you’d think we might put a “spy” on him? Add a lineman like mentioned previously? I was so pissed I deleted the game. I’d like to verify when we had f...

That was 3rd and 3 when Love got sacked and stripped for a TD. We took a time out before that play. Wells and Spicolli had time to coach up the players. You saw the result.

What I saw was a poorly coached game. AF was dead in the water before half and we shut it down on both sides of the ball. Play calls on both sides of the ball cost us the game not the players.
