Re: Stew Morrill vs. Rod Tueller

The NCAA WAS a different animal back in LaDells days. The top 32 teams were invited, not 65. That means you were essentially playing a "second round" type team in your first game. For LaDell to win 2 and get to the elite 8 was monumental for USU. They eventually lost to UCLA who went on to win the t...

Re: Why has USU played Ohio only one time?

The 1905 Michigan Wolverine team won their first 12 games by a combined score of 495-0. They lost their final game to the U of Chicago by the score of 2-0, the only two points they gave up all year. Imagine that!

In all my 63 years of life....I haven't seen an easier line to go with. Sorry. Those of you know me personally know what a homer I am....but in this case, I don't think we can make it better than 20 or 25.

Bowl Payout

The Potato Bowl payout last year is listed as $750,000. This year is listed as $650,000. My questions are these....

1. Why less?
2. Do we lose money going to this game?
3. What else are we paid(TV contract.....or conference share)

Of course it is great we are bowling...but do we lose money?

Re: It's great to have a Win....

We do have a long way to go. We look very weak inside. Stone is raw and a bit slow, but has some upside. Berger will help a lot. Pane to me is spinning his wheels. He is the worst point we have had in a long time when it comes to assists. The ability is there, so I don't know what his problem is. Lo...

Re: I know some are tired of Optimism, but here we go

Gird up your loins, boys. This is going to be a hard year. I'm optimistic for next year. I think Davis is the true PG we need. He has that ability to get everyone else involved. In time, Bair is going to be a very good 3. Bradshaw is a kid who looks to score, and can. Another Brian Green, IMO. But,...

This kind of talk makes me think that if Baldwin sees it this way, he will want to go conservative which will run down the clock and keep the ball from Tettleton's hands. That means more of the same, except the end of the fourth quarter.

Ha, for real? Those guys were great recruiters, and I don't know if anyone told you, but we just lost 4 starters and 6 seniors. Our best player is injured. The recruits coming in have been more highly regarded than any in the school's past. Most of the players have played with each other for a matt...

I admit that I have only seen tonights game and the Y game. Never the less here are my observations as I sit here in Illinois. 1. This is a bad basketball team 2. Denver out shot us, out hustled us on defense, took care of the ball better, and out coached us. The out coached thing may be unfair cons...

Since I am far away and haven't seen Stone play (except against the WHY), this might not be fair for me to say.....but maybe he doesn't get minutes because he hasn't earned them in practice. He looks great physically, but maybe his basketball skills haven't caught up with the speed of the game yet.

Win Prediction for 2011-12

On a mission in Nauvoo. Saw the BYU game, and not impressed. Just checked the score tonight. I think we will be hard pressed to win 15 games. IMHO we have overestimated the real talent of the new kids coming in. Yes, I know they are young. But we should be getting production from Pane and Medlin. So...

Did I say that I blame the losses on Chuckie? What is it with all of you? So far AK at the helm shows no losses. That could mean nothing, or it could mean that the team plays better in the 4th quarter with him...or it could mean that he is lucky....or that he is better, or more experienced. Could be...

Re: So our defense gives up a 96 yard drive and we blame Bal

Blaming the defense is a little off base too. Both defenses were looking tired at the end of the game. We seem to never get a break down the stretch, until tonight when we recovered the fumble. That is when the offense needs to win the game. We didn't spread the field. We packed it in with only one ...

In the 60's was Earsel Mackbee. He played football and basketball. I know he was a pretty good basketball player, but a great defensive back in fotball. He went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings.....and I could be wrong, but I think he was all pro one year.

You may or may not get kicked out. What you would do is offend all Y fans and 90 percent of Aggie fans. Huge defensive line?? I thought I read on this site in an earlier post, that Auburn's d line was about the same size as ours.

Anyway, 111 yards rushing, 44 yds. receiving, and 2 touchdowns.

Marv Roberts was only 6'7" or 6'8". Put him in there at PF, and Nate Williams at SF. jay Goodman? Don't think so. Keith McDonald,Rich McElrath, and Jeff Tebbs were better. Oops, Max Perry too. Center...Mike Santos. He was 6'8" or 6'9", but bigger body than Roberts, and his Afro made him 7'.

Talking with the family (in slc) Parker Hausknecht is up to almost 250, and is all muscle. He hasn't lost his speed, and his agility.
He is backing up Wagner and the coaches really like him. His grades are good..... but he has been living in the weight room this winter, and is super strong.
