Re: New Safety Commit

This is because Bryce Beekman, our JC safety commit, didn't qualify. I was surprised not to see a thread about him. It was a real bummer to lose him. Can you please clarify what failing to qualify means? I know it’s related to academics, but I want to understand how this affects recruiting efforts ...

Re: BYU 3 pt favorites in Provo

The Cougars have deep, deep pockets and an established program like they have doesn't slip quietly into the night. With the major financial investments they have made I would expect a regenerated coaching assistant staff will make them very tough next season. I wold love a win in Provo and actually...

Can't be right. Byu fans and media are already chalking this up as a win. Re: Tahi on Wells

Coordinators change Ding ding ding. Alex Smith was largely knocked in SF when he had a different OC each year. Once he got some consistency, he did much better. Not saying that Wells isn't a problem, but the inconsistency of our OCs is a huge problem. This year will be interesting because, correct ...

100 days till the season starts!

I keep seeing these win total estimates going up. I mean, I'm optimistic about the coming season, too, at least tentatively. But I also recognize that things could very much not go our way. There could be some of these teams folks are chalking up as automatic wins that end up having great seasons. ...

Tahi on Wells

Well, I DM’d Tahi on Twitter. He graciously shared his side of the story. I can’t divulge many personal details because I promised I wouldn’t, but I will say this: he’s really, really salty with Matt and he appears to have some legitimate grievances, too. If even half of what he told me is true, the...

Re: Tahi on Wells

Dismissing this is a very lazy way to look at it. I choose to take off the Aggie blue glasses and check my fanaticism at the door. There is a lot of truth in Tahi's post. He was passed over a bunch of times for Wells to employ his brother and others. He is grateful for finishing his degree but for ...

The post by Tahi doesn’t mean much to me, comes across as sour grapes and someone who is very immature. The addition of Colsten Green however is concerning. Sounds about right. I think 8 wins should be the standard. Anything more than that would be gravy.

I think we only get there if the Run D improves a lot, though.

I think a better title for this post is “we had a problem.” We fired the problem. Now we have a coach that can inject some badly needed lifeblood into our hoops program. Tim was never, EVER gonna do that. Smith may be just what we need. And frankly, I think Koby was gone either way. At least he didn...

Sure hope you’re right. If we want to win the division, Run D needs to improve a lot and Special Teams at least can’t lose games for us.

Having this position filled is better than doing it by committee.

Re: Hartwell should fire Wells too

I saw a team that lost 2 games it should have won because of the coaching. Offensive side of the ball specifically. And, how long are we going to continue to lose games (big games) because we can't kick a FG? You'd figure that missing a trip to the Orange Bowl would be a motivator? Nope. Our kicker...

Rock is a click-seeking troglodyte. Others have made great points on here. We need the right hire to get the ball rolling again and we’ll be fine long-term.

Disagree. Don’t like Matt, but there are some key differences in the MW situation vs that of Duryea. Matt barely saved his job this season. 2018 is do or die for him.

I bet NMSU takes a noticeable step back on offense without Rose and Rogers. Our D will be better than last season. Quite frankly, if we don’t beat NewMags by 14 points or better at home, we could be in for a long season.

I agree we were improved this year, and I did see some encouraging things that just weren’t there last year, like attitude and effort. The team still has few defined leaders and the “bad luck” explanation only goes so far in losing all these close games. I hope Wells wins next year and stops choking...

Yesterday sucked, but we did get extra practices for our young players. MW did just enough this year to get one last shot.

If we have a fourth straight losing season, he will for sure be fired.

If we are able to retain all or most of the coaches, would you consider this to be a good thing or bad thing?
