Re: MWC-MVC Challenge

Yikes, bad losses by Boise and CSU. I’m worried about another 1 bid league for the MWC. Boise and CSU are down this year. I still think the MW could get 3 in as USU, SDSU, UNM and Fresno are all pretty decent. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk The nice thing is we haven’t been eliminated from the po...

Re: MWC-MVC Challenge

I watched some of the Nevada game tonight. The freshman for Nevada (I think it is Porter) makes them another level better than they were last year IMO. I think the only way they lose against a MW team is if they have a bad shooting night. They do take a fair amount of contested jump shots (mostly Th...

Perhaps he realized he will have options in the spring and decided to hold off signing till then. You would think if one of the P5’s pursuing him signed him they would have announced it by now. Perhaps a slim chance we still land him?

Re: We lost, but we proved ourselves to be good with a strong possible run for NCAA tournament

Am I the only one that likes Knight driving it to the hoop? You need a guy or two that can break down the defense like that. He'll start to finish more and more of them and learn to dish out when they collapse. The season is still young. No way, I absolutely love it. He'll only get better at it and...

Re: Worst line of the night

[TK] also currently leads the team in TOs per 40 mintues. But you can probably see from Coach Smith's point of view that Crew and Abel are going to run the offense (as pass-first PGs) and take care of the ball. Actually, TK is tied for second in turnovers per minute with Ainge behind Queta. Queta a...

At halftime we were killing them on the boards, they caught up a little in the second half, be we killed it in the first half, and there were a lot of hustle rebounds. Taylor has a knack for them. Queta’s and Taylor’s game seem to compliment each other nicely. Hindsight is 20/20 but Smith must have ...

There were a few plays last night where Merrill and Queta isolated on one half of the floor and passed the ball in and out to each other, resulting in several easy layups on pick and roll or give and go plays. There aren’t a lot of freshman 6’11” centers with enough basketball knowledge or instinct...

I watched a little of ASU last night. They seem like a completely different kind of team than SM. I’m curious to see if we get exposed in any way or if we keep rolling competitively. A grad transfer would be great. He would most likely be a Senior and then you can still have the scholarship available for next years class.

Smith recruits v. Duryea recruits

Considering the circumstances I think Smith is recruiting well so far, however I will be looking for him to have some very good signings in November. IMO We really won’t have a decent feel for how good of a recruiter he will be for us until then.
