Feeling good about the rest of the schedule, except for Nevada.
@ Boise will not be easy, I’ll be surprised if we don’t drop another besides the Nevada home game. I do think second place is very plausible, even with 2 more losses in conference play.

Re: Quinn Taylor with the dagger

We needed every point last Tuesday. I would say being up by four our guys basically gave Taylor the inbounds roll to nearly half court and the final 3 point shot and points. Had the lead been 3 or 2 the defensive strategy certainly would have been different. Quinn’s shot was the dagger Sam’s free t...

Re: Now that All Scholarships are Used

I once watched Chris Smith warm up when he was our best player. He was joking around, shooting sitting down etc. Made me wonder; Could he be even better or is that just his way of staying loose for the game? I do think warmups also serve getting mentally ready for a game and every player does that a...

Re: Now that All Scholarships are Used

Given that Bean and Porter were just awarded scholarships, I think it's a safe bet neither is getting counseled out of the program. Don't know that we add another player this cycle unless Neemias goes pro or Stall/Grootfaam are unable to play basketball anymore. Don't see Ainge getting counseled ou...

I’m happy for Porter and Bean. Wouldn’t shock me if Stall were done with basketball. If Stall is really done with basketball, he can remain on scholarship and through an injury exemption, we can use his his scholarship on another player. I really am holding out hope that he is not done, but I reali...

That was not an easy shot. Listening on the radio it sounded more like a catch and shoot. Smith said Porter is a better shooter then you would think. We need his shooting. If Brock & Brito can continue to shoot it well from 3 we will be a tough out.

Will Bean receive a scholarship after this year? If Bean gets a scholarship, then that means the spring recruiting period did not go well. With the post season drought that we've had, I'd be very happy with the NIT this year. Not convinced that will happen. I almost think I'd rather go to the NIT and make a deep run than be the last in / first out in the NCAA. I think it might actually be a better morale builder for the team. Not me I...

Muss said the other day that USU is currently playing the best basketball of any team in the MW. I think he is right. The Pack is battling a shooting slump and is still trying to figure out who does what and when. Unlike the silly notion that the Pack coasts and doesn't play hard all the time, this...

Villanova also plays Kansas later this week. Penn's Net Ranking as of 12/11 is #102, and Villanova's Net Ranking as of 12/11 is #24 which means we will probably move up one spot tomorrow. We moved up a spot to 35. Villanova is now right behind us at 36. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/...

I think the biggest mistake was not calling a timeout after Emery checked in and proceeded to hit a 3. The building was extremely loud at that point and you could see the Aggies were shaken. I thought a timeout would be good to calm the team and quiet the building. I agree, I think Smith even admit...

Re: The significance of 1 play

Agreed. My thought at the moment of the foul was that we were done. That was the most important play of the game for BYU and Haws was savvy enough to bait Queta into it. I can go all the way back to the first points scored. BYU dropped it into Childs on a post up, we doubled Childs and he kicked it...
