We always get up in arms about coaching hires, especially for football and basketball. I now realize that the most important hire is probably the AD.
IMHO at USU it is the president that is most important.

Kinda dumb. If you go with 25% capacity and spread people out they're no more likely to get the 'rona than by going to the grocery store. It's 100% a liability move. Well, there's also the optics of hosting a gathering with thousands of people during a pandemic that is raging out of control. It's a...

I hope someone tells Maile that he is no longer on the team, otherwise he might try to put Shelley in as the starter against Wyoming. It was obvious to everyone except Maile that he shouldn’t have played against Fresno State, but he did it anyway, so being off the team might not stop him from namin...

Re: Jay Hill and Smashmouth football

I'd like to see a creative, aggressive, offense. I'm not much for "system" offenses that constrain creativity. This can apply to the spread too - I thought Yost's offense lacked creativity at times. My favorite offense is one like Boise runs - they'll do anything and often do. I think a creative, a...

There is plenty of problems with this team 2 big time fumbles inside the red zone took away a lot of juice in this game. We are not a very talented team. The new coach has his work cut out for him he needs to recruit a lot of kids into the system. He will be helped with the new transfer rules, so it...

I kind of think that one of the things an FCS head coach needs is some experience in an FBS program. Perhaps those that want to get rid of Gary should start a drive to buy out his contract before the 2021 season. Talk is cheap but it take money to buy whiskey.

Other programs have had fans do that very thing, perhaps it is time for that to happen here.

Perhaps he thought that having a proven winner at USU, that might not leave as soon as he had a winning season would be a way to make USU constantly decent. Of course that would be a great thing to have happen. Those that are just now bringing question are having 20-20 hindsight at best.
