Re: NMSU is biting the curb
The Broncos are playing aggessive and it's paying off. NMS seems to have no game plan and is very hesitant on their 3-point shooting. If NMS is within 15 at the buzzer, I'll be surprised.
We could really use Pane to break down the defense and Nebold and Green to spot up and hit from the outside.

Re: NAR: Nevada and NMSU tied with 3 minutes left
NMS winning is one for the good guys. I hope the Aggies throttle BSU, too. That would make it 0-4 for those departing teams. I wish UNR would quit blaming their crappy season on being a young team. Well hold on to a junior or senior, then. I think I'll send Aslowwhiteguy a tissue.

Re: Seeding scenarios and who we want to win
I think USU is the best team in the conference by a long ways. I think we have the best coach. I also think we'll have double the fans at the tourney of any other team there. I think we're hungry. So it doesn't matter to me who is seeded where and who plays who. Does anyone know whether it's a fixed...

Re: I'm happy/relieved that we won but ...
Here are some thoughts about last night. You are correct about our half-court offense. Stew kept trying to get into it even under the NMS pressure. We had to get 5 points down with the time waning before he cut Pane loose to create his own shot. Green is completely unprepared to handle the ball unde...

Re: ugly ugly game
I hope none of the NCAA committee was watching the game. If so, we'll be an 18 seed. Wow, Stew must not have liked what he saw in Jardine by replacing him with Grim in crunch time. Jardine was certainly the LV0 of the game (least). A win a win, but we certainly didn't look like a top 25 team. We loo...

Everytime Jardine touches the ball something bad happens.
The Aggies need to attack the basket or they'll pick up loss number two!

Re: CW-30 expanding coverage
FYI. I called CW30 to hear their explanation as to why the USU/Idaho game was not picked up until half-time. They responded that there was a linkgage problem between Logan and the station, i.e., a satelite problem, and that they had 3 engineers working on it until the connection was restored. They m...

I think we missed something in not picking up Charles Abuou and I think Mr. Rogers is going to be very good for BYU. Abuou looks to be anything but raw and out of control, which waere the knocks on him as to why we didn't recruit him heavily to USU. Alas!

Great win guys. Just caught the end of the game. Just came from our horrific loss to Northern Colorado. We are just a sub par ball club and would like to take my prediction back that we will win big in the Pan Am. Hell, we will probably not even win. Man we suck. Congrats again and see you guys in ...

Re: I dreamed last night we were up 8 at the half.
Needless to say, I repent of all my Debbie-downer thoughts. I don't know what Stew's halftime speech was, but he should bottle it for future use. Wesley was a man among boys inte 2nd half. The Nevada fans can take their wishes for a USU choke and put it in their collective ears. I admit that I have ...

Your dream is turning into a nightmare. Jardine is completely lost ---- again. Our bigs can't score. We have vbeen taken completely out of our offense. Our floor general is on the pines. And SM has hit some remarkable shots. USU will be lucky to be down only by single digets to end the half. This is...

So is this good or bad? I'm having a hard time deciding who I want to see win and lose in the WAC this year. I suppose I'd like to see NMSU and Idaho climb to 2 and 3 so they would be on the other side of the bracket. I see them as the biggest threats. Any thoughts? Every WAC team except Utah State...

Re: tonights game will tell us........
I was disappointed in the last 12 minutes of the game, especially Jardine's play. Defensive lapses. Inability to finish plays. Missed shots. Putz is right. We should have beaten these guys by 40. We shoot 33% in the 2nd half. Our bench gets outscored by a ton. We have more TO than assists. Three of ...

For a sportsguy, it doesn't look like you know much about sports and their relativity. It isn't about teams like Stanford participating in all sports, it's about which sports and the points accorded team and individual sports. The point allocation is terribly flawed in the Director's Cup and the spo...

On behalf of New Mexico State and the rest of the WAC Conference. Let me be the first to apologize. What a freaking awful conference this is in 2010/2011. Utah State deserves better. Re: If the Aggies can hold serve
for the second half of the season they may win the WAC by 4 or 5 games. The Aggies are also one of 7 teams who are undefeated in conference play. Right now I'd say the end-of-year standings will ultimately be: 1. USU 2. Nevada (wins tie-breaker over NMS for having beaten BSU twice) 3. NMS 4. BSU 5....

While the Aggies catch a flight back from Hawaii after a very long road trip, UNR will be preparing for the USU game. The Pack will have nearly a week to prepare and the Aggies will have a short week. If there is a trap game this year, the UNR game will be it. The Sprectrum will need to bring its ma...

I think we cover. I wrote an e-mail to Tony Jones this morning about the terrible coverage that the Aggies received in today's Trib. Weber St. got 12 column-inches of coverage and USU got the same coverage as Westminter's, Utah Valley's and Southern Utah's women's teams. Others should also write Ton...

That was a great post, laxtonto. I appreciate the objective perspective. IMO, USU is in a tough position. There is just not a compelling enough reason for USU to receive an invite to the MWC right now. Had "the project" not happened either FU or UNR may have still been in line ahead of us. I don't s...

Re: Thought on the Game- Chime in.
Quayle had a tendency to wear down when hard defense was played on him. I don't think that is the case with Pane. He seems to hold his own when other guards try to out physical him. Next year the team will have to ride on Pane and Jardine's back. I like the progress those two are making. Pane flat ...

The last 10:45 NMSU outscored USU 20-11. Yes we get the win but that stat isn't good, ever. There were a number of other stats that weren't that good. 41.5% shooting; Pane's entire line; no one but Taie shooting over 50%; and 1 more assist than turnovers. But we did have a few very good stats. 6-0 ...

Neither BSU nor Nevada had to try to find a conference when Big West football folded; try independence for two years; and then try traveling to the likes of Louisiana Lafeyette and Louisiana Monroe for two years. I think Stew has learned a few things. He is realizing that Pane is a better player for scoring points, leading the fast break and creating his own shots, and that Pooh is better as an assist man. Let's play this out for a while. I'll take Pooh's 2 points and 7 assists and a 14-point win any day of ...
