Obligatory officiating post

My commenting record here is consistent: no one is out to get us, yes, some refs are better than others. Officials don't cost us games. We do it to ourselves.

But tonight? How does one guy, playing on the perimeter with a penchant of not committing fouls, get called with four fouls in five minutes?

We will win by 20 or more if we play them again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk We show an amazing amount of arrogance for a team with eight losses including several blown leads. If any team other than SDSU or USU wins the MWC Championship, we don't go to the NCAA's. They aren't taking three teams from the MWC.

What about Brito and Miller? Anderson and Bairstow still can't get more than spot minutes each game despite major struggles by Brito and Miller. Don't forget Loyola Marymount circa 1988-1990. That alone makes them the pre-eminent conference. Maybe in the world.

Without a small miracle we aren't going dancing so let's make this a memorable season. I'm willing to bet we've probably lost big leads like that more t...

We aren't getting in with 9 losses. If we belonged to a more reputable conference maybe. But in the MWC no way.

For an at-large bid I think we need to beat UNM and get to the conference finals.

I don't see the MWC getting three bids. If we only get to the semi-finals and SDSU doesn't win the conference tournament we won't get in.

The way we are peaking and SDSU is cratering right now, I feel like we might be the favorites to win the tourny anyways. TeamRankings disagrees, giving us a 28% chance. SDS has a 49% chance. Agreed. The 30+ win team will be the favorite, and should be, regardless of the recent trendline. At the end...

A shooter vs a scorer

Thought of this in light of a certain Aggie wing player's shooting struggles. Dating myself here :-) In 1986 the Jazz traded Adrian Dantley to the Pistons for Kelly Tripucka. Both teams had a reason to make the trade. The Jazz had their future post player in Malone and now needed a shooter to compli...

A positive, albeit from the comfort of my chair 2500 miles away, is that Miller does hustle. He does make mistakes and poor decisions from time to time but I don't think I've muttered to myself that he's not hustling. Regarding shooting: unfortunately, Smith can't tell him not to shoot. The amazing detail of Jaycee's shooting prowess is how many times he crisscrossed the floor on each possession before catching a pass around a screen and turning to shoot all in the same motion. It's not as though he was camping out waiting for a big man to get doubled and finding him wide open.
