Re: To be honest, the outcome of today shouldn't really matt

Florida, I don't think you really understand many on this site. We are not happy that we kept they game close. I think most of us are mad that we didn't win. With that said, there are 11 more games this season. We feel that this team has the tools to take a giant step from last year. You could be r...

Re: To be honest, the outcome of today shouldn't really matt

Yes it should matter. It's a loss. They keep score because it does matter. One team wins and one loses. We need to get over the mentality of "hey, we kept it close in the bodybag game this year" and get to the mentality of winning games like this, especially when we completely outplay the other team...

Onside Kick Defense

Is it me, or does it seem like over the last few years the better teams have the front line on the kick return team actually block the kicking team's line to keep them from the ball during an onside kick? I was looking for this yesterday and it seemed like some of the players did this while others d...

Re: The Fake FG: Gary Andersen has testicles of titanium

That took balls of a giant cougar. Even if it fails, Auburn would have been stuck deep in their own territory.

Now if only the special teams coach could figure out how to defend an onside kick.

Re: Big Plays

The reverse pass that was spoiled in the first quarter would have worked, the receiver was wide open but Morrison didn't have time to plant and throw. We scored anyway. It was very impressive how many times Keeton completed 3rd down passes. Keeton did take a couple of five and seven step drops so it...

They just couldn't cover Auburn's WR's. USU's db's look really small and really slow. Could be long year against passing teams.

OK now I have had a chance to calm down. In my 30 years of following the Aggies , I can't remember a better first game performance than this one by Keeton for a QB... Can anyone else? He left his heart and talent on that field... If we had a halfway decent special teams..there would be dancing on t...

Re: more positives than negatives here

Interesting how some fans are so black and white. Either we suck or we are great. No one said anything about sucking. I think they played fantastic and truly dominated Auburn for most of the game. Unfortunately, that doesn't count for squat. They have to win games. When GA sits in front of some kid...

What's FloridaAggies problem? No need to pour salt in an open wound.. Granted, We lost and every Aggie is heartbroken about it, but We looked great and I think we have a lot to look forward to, For Aggies like me that have been waiting for a good coach and team to show up, This is pure sweet candy!...

Sorry, but moral victories are the crutch losers lean on. New Year Same Results

Unbearable to watch another classic USU choke job. Completely outcoached on special teams and overall and in the final three minutes. I can only imagine what true passing teams will do to this defense. USU's secondary looks like it moves in slow motion. Fortunately, Auburn didn't go to the passing g...

Re: How Many Yards Will Robert Turbin Have Tomorrow?

I would love to see him rack up 150+ yards in ESPN. Let's be realistic here though. This is the SEC and not the WAC. I still remember Urban Meyer saying how shocked he was at the talent-level and speed of the SEC defenses; something about how he wasn't used to seeing D'linemen run down tailbacks. H...

Re: Poll: Who will start at Auburn?

Kennedy gets the first series. Maybe two. Then we see Keeton for a series or two. See which one handles the pressure of gametime better. I would prefer to only see one QB after halftime and stick with him. If we try platooning qb's then we are screwed. It's basically admitting that neither qb is go...

Re: Nice to Know Kevin Curtis is Back in the NFL

Having moved to Florida in 1995 the only chance I've had to see the Aggies live was in 2001 when they played USF here in Tampa. The Aggies lost - blowing a lead in the fourth quarter in typical Aggie fashion having a punt blocked and returned for a touchdown and then immediately fumbling inside the...

Re: Does Anyone Think We're Screwed at QB No Matter Who It I

I feel the same way. I really hope I'm wrong but this isn't an issue of which qb is going to lead the team to 35 pts instead of 28pts, rather it's an issue of which one can just sustain a drive. We have too high expectations of Turbin coming back and being explosive right away. Typically, it isn't ...

I thought practices were now closed? Come on, we need to face the reality that is USU is Auburn's scrimmage game. Re: When will it be announced? Starting QB?

Platooning would be a disaster and is akin to admitting neither quarterback is ready to be the starting qb at a D1 school. This whole quarterback debate isn't promising to me. I'm not seeing this as an issue of choosing who is better; more like choosing the one who doesn't play as poorly as the othe...

"Suffocating" is a good description of September humidity in the south. There is nothing quite like it in Utah to get them ready for it.
