Re: How Ugly was this game?

The refs could’ve cleaned up that game early on by throwing out a flopping warning first thing but instead they encouraged more flopping than I’ve ever seen outside of a game in the Marriott Center. So much for freedom of movement. Jorts just kept getting blown back 5 feet by guys 50 lbs lighter th...

Re: Great defensive adjustment by Smith

The announcers mentioned that Smith installed the 2-3 zone only in the past week. Now, perhaps they meant to say the 1-3-1 zone because 2-3 would seem to be pretty standard fare in my opinion. Either way it worked very well last night and the players communicated and rotated very well not leaving g...

Re: Was the term “spectrum magic” coined ...

I coined it in the 80's. I also invented the apostrophe. Wow cool to see a SDSU grad on here. All inventions and ideas flow through there right? I don't know about that; my ideas flowed through midnight visits to the Campus Corner for refreshments. I also invented the "quadcolon" but alas it never ...

This makes me wonder how much of our losses this year could have been avoided by coaching decisions like we saw last night and how many were unavoidable.
With Queta only really being healthy in the latter half of January it is possible that his choices were limited.

On a positive note

I thought the offense executed much better tonight than a month ago. Far more open shots were created. Unfortunately, we don't have the shooters to take advantage, hence the drought over the last ten minutes.

He's a heck of a player, however, one of his threes was after blatantly pushing off Bean and stepping back.

Hopefully Smith keeps hammering on the refs so if we do play them a third time we can get a foul or two called.

Bowl contracts are negotiated separately from TV contracts. This past July the conference entered into a new bowl agreement that includes ESPN controlled bowls and non-ESPN bowls. That agreement runs through the 2025 season and includes the following bowls: - New Los Angeles Bowl vs. Pac-12 - Potat...

The 1989-90 team had a guard named Matt Barnes who Kohn Smith brought in as a three-point shooter. Pre-game-warmups-Matt was lights out. Game-time-Matt chipped paint off the rim and cracked backboards. I believe at one point his three-point % was in the low 20's and he barely made it on the court co...

He doesn't have a bad looking shot, especially about 12 feet in. This will help him as he develops.

I honestly thought his knee was blown until a few weeks ago and didn't expect him back this year.

His detractors here are going to realize next year what a talent USU had. I don't think many of the 'detractors' thought he sucked. He made many bad decisions, a few of which led directly to losses. He has a lot of talent including a great arm. I'd love to see him go in the 1st or 2nd round and get...

It is actually a good thing that they are playing a good AF team that manhandled them a few weeks ago - they should be a little amped up.

Not sure that’s a good thing... the offensive flow since Queta has come back has been totally broken. Spacing is an issue and defensive effort has been wanting. Players are certainly missing shots but I haven’t seen much coaching happening. Add that to playing Miller and not taking a PG that can pl...

The thing is both teams had to sit through the fouls and the reviews.
