Re: "Battle of the Brothers"

. . . I don't know why it bothers people here so much? Well, I guess because that's not the nickname for the game. They wouldn't call it the Apple Cup, or the Civil War, or the Red River Rivalry, or the Iron Bowl.... so why would they call it something that is the nickname of a different game? I im...

I think I remember reading something about how Tennessee's game at Autzen stadium (in Oregon a couple of years ago) was their first game ever west of the central time zone.

Re: "Battle of the Brothers"

My guess is he is a low-level db announcer that was assigned the big rivalry game in Utah for last weekend. As he was talking the term "Battle of the Brothers" came to mind and he just said it because it sounded good. Would be money he had no knowledge of it's meaning in this context. Your guess is...

"Battle of the Brothers"

While watching portions of the BYU-Utah football game, I noticed Gus Johnson on Fox Sports refer to the game as the "Battle of the Brothers" on at least a few occasions. Hearing this reference was more than a little annoying, considering that the Battle of the Brothers has always been the nickname o...

I like that we get Washington State in Logan first in that series. Not that Wazzu would be likely to buy out, but it's always nice when they don't have that option to play us at their place then never come to Logan.

I went and watched the Jazz play earlier this week...and Butterfield played great. His shot looks amazing, one of the purest looking shooters I saw in the 3 or 4 games I watched while at the Summer League.

it should still count towards basketball ticket donation levels. Disagree on this. The club seat donation is specifically paying back a capital improvement, so it's a little different. You don't want to rob from Peter to pay Paul, which is what would happen if you treated it like any general donati...

Of course I'm kidding. It just shows the fallacy of saying a coach sucks because we don't waste time recruiting where there is little to gain. I don't think we have missed much by not owning every player coming out of CSI. It would be just as ridiculous of a waste of time to recruit kids that are a...

Kind of off topic, but which Nevada school is technically the flagship university for the state? Also, it's pretty cool to see us hanging in there with the other flagship universities, considering we are second fiddle (financially) in our own state! I'm confused. Didn't Duryea just say we'll never play BYU at a neutral site again? Or would this mean that we still have home/home each year with BYU, Weber, Utah? and then this is a separate event where we would play one of them a second time? I'm confused as well. I've never liked the idea of Uta...

I don't think the program has "Arrived" in such a way that this makes any sense. Perhaps Hartwell and staff are jumping the gun here... We should just go back to playing them home-home each season. I.e., one game in Logan and one game in Provo every year. There are several great reasons to do this, and no legitimate negatives that I can see.
