In a twisted way, Utah might actually have some motivation to schedule us in Logan next year, if for no other reason than to rub more salt in BYU's wounds.

The stakes could be much higher. In fact I don't think they could be much lower than they have been this year. Win and people will come back, simple as that. As long as we keep morons like Chris Jones on staff we will struggle to win and the Spectrum will continue to be a ghost town. Once the staff...

Re: Dave Hall and Vern Harris redefine time

my one question throughout this whole fiasco is: Why is there a hand stopwatch there at the bench anyway? What would you use it for? Is there really a need for them to use it? Apparently in this instance it wasn't a hand stopwatch. They used an on screen stop watch overlay with the video. The probl...

Re: Dave Hall and Vern Harris redefine time

The worst part is that the Mountain West is backing up this total and obvious display of incompetence by stating that the stopwatch used by the refs showed that it took 1.2 seconds for the BSU player to catch then release the shot. Just watch the replays: there's no way it took 1.2 seconds. It does...

I'd be okay with adding BYU in basketball and whatever other sports only - that would give us an even number of basketball teams at 12 and a travel partner system for basketball scheduling, which would save costs. Their inclusion in the MWC would boost our conference's RPI, hopefully leading to mor...

* * * Utah should be sending gift baskets and thank you notes monthly to UT-Austin and Oklahoma for deciding not to go with the Pac 10's plan to expand to 16 by inviting 6 Big 12 schools. I still worry that things won't get better with the o-line and we'll look back and think we were too hard on Weber... I hope I'm wrong. Am I too pessimistic here? Yes. We were really good at O-line for the Gary Anderson years before Weber got here, so there's no reason we can't be really good again...

As of this morning, 8 of the 11 teams in the MWC have 10 or 11 wins and 6 or 7 losses. Upside: pretty much every game is winnable. Downside: 1-bid league. We could get two bids but only if Boise State does very well and wins the regular season but then loses in the conference tournament. BSU is the...

My favorite Desmond Pinegar moment was when we beat Utah at the Huntsman Center. After the game he ran straight up to coach Majerus and shook his hand....because the year before when we beat them in Logan he walked straight out to the tunnel and refused to congratulate USU's players.

There is a huge, HUGE growing budget gap between the so-called "Power 5" conferences and the rest of us. The most optimistic result I can see is 3-6, putting us at 4-8 in conference after 12. Realistically, I don't see any of these road games winnable. We should be AFA at home and hopefully split the Reno/Vegas games. At this point, I'd be surprised if we went 2-7. This team does not play for each oth...
