Makes SUUs gambit to join the WAC continue to be a poor decision. Should have stayed in the Big Sky… What were they thinking? Like that's a career ending decision. I think they were thinking with their football head. WAC continues to expand into Texas with former FCS schools who have FBS ambitions,...

* * * I quite like this idea, although you still couldn't restrict your players from taking big money from the P4 schools - how would you enforce your one-transfer rule? Your P4s and G6s are still subject to the same laws and precedents, unless the G6s unionized their players and made one-transfer ...

I just don't see a reason to keep putting resources into football in this new paradigm. It sucks. Exactly. At what point do the smaller schools just drop school-sponsored sports all together? What is the point of trying to compete on a national level when you have no chance to keep up with the big ...

The NCAA isn't coming to save us
In the interest of board coherence, may I make a suggestion? Stop suggesting that the NCAA do something about NIL, or the free-transfer rule, or essentially anything. It cannot. Every time it goes to court to restrict the rights of players, it loses. Its Enforcement employees are probably hiding und...

A few thoughts. In some ways, we're in uncharted territory. There have been several instances of schools leaving one conference for another, or a conference splitting into two conferences, but I can't think of a conference merger . That's more than a technical distinction. The most obvious point is...

Contracts are going to be needed. If the NIL money being given to an athlete is tied to a years, games played, etc. If they are being treated as a professional athlete then they shouldn't be able to hit free agency every year unless they are signing 1 year agreements.
