Re: USU to the Big 12

Living in the middle of the Big 12, I have to say that I hate this move with a passion. The Big 12 is a great conference, the fans can travel to most of the other schools for a football weekend, and it's pretty competitive. It will decimate the Big 12 and make me hate the SEC even more. But as an Ag...

Re: USU to the Big 12

I could see A&M voting "no" to please their fanbase. Could also see South Carolina and Florida voting No to try to validate the gentlemen's agreement among SEC teams that a member school has to approve adding another school from its state. Because there's no reason for the SEC to stop at 16 if they...

I really really do not see it. WSU might win, but I do not see how you can look at two terrible teams last year, and say that the one that made no meaningful changes is going to beat the one that made meaningful changes by more than 2. touchdowns. Maybe because there's terrible, then there's really...

Orioles have a new reliever who throws mostly knuckleballs. They checked him every inning last night, even though his desired spin rate is about 1 rpm. Functional equivalent of the TSA patdown of the 87-year old granny on a walker.

Very sad news. I loved listening to that guy - he was a delightful mash-up of Keith Jackson and Grover from Sesame Street. Knew his football, called games joyfully, and was Hawaii through and through. Heaven help whoever steps Into those shoes. RIP Robert.

Love this idea but is anybody else nervous? If the AAC continues to rank better than us, their winner would consistently get in over the MW champ. How's this worse than the status quo? And if we start to rank better than them, our winner would consistently get in over theirs. In other words: whoeve...

I blame Smith more for this. When you have already betrayed your former team by going to their rival, the least you can do is not gut their roster as well to add insult to injury. Smith is completely dead to me now. There should be a non-compete type clause in coaches contracts that when they leave...

The Utah basketball program has no appetite for that. They definitely have more to lose. It's different than them playing BYU. They must play and beat BYU so that they can have some fanbase following, otherwise it's a disaster there. If they lose to Utah State then it hurts them in local recruiting...

Utah has the 13th most wins in college basketball, so the recent past is the aberration, unlike with BYU football being mostly awful before LaVell. To me the U isn't "the enemy". They're not even an opponent, and they've chosen to shart on 100 years of tradition so they're not even a rival. They are a nothing. If CS had left for Boise or SDSU or BYU-P, then I'd take it personally.
