Has Gary said anything at all?
Sorry for bring this up, but I am really curious. There has been complete and total radio silence on anything Andersen since his very surprising firing. I am not expecting tons to be said, but typically a fired coach will at least release a public statement after being fired, something to the effect...

Re: After that embarrassing display who you got? Bama or Ohio?
Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Oklahoma have taken 20 of the 28 playoff spots that have been available since the playoff was formed. If you throw in the two spots Notre Dame has taken, that means five programs have had 78% of the playoff spots available, while the other 60 FBS schools have had j...

Re: Uniform Question
I like the original re-design from 2012-2014 as well. Unless we are going to be like Oregon and have completely new uniforms for every single game, I wish we would stick with one uniform pattern. Color combos I like: HOME Blue helmet, blue shirt, white pants. White helmet, blue shirt, white pants. S...

Re: Interesting Development
I honestly don't see what the AAC gets out of it. They are already considered the premier G5 conference, and the States they have a presence in (for football) is the largest of any conference at 107.7 million people (the ACC has the second largest at 100.3 million). BYU might bring in a little bit o...

Re: Interesting Development
Yeah, I don't know. First, I don't know why they'd consider USU over CSU based on a resource perspective. I guess USU has had better success in football over the last ten years. Maybe more than anyone in the conference with the obvious exception of Boise. Second, I don't know if it's a good move fo...

Re: Interesting Development
Meh... I like the MWC. I like playing Wyoming, CSU, Air Force, New Mexico, Nevada, etc. I am also not a fan of selling out all of the other sports just so the football team can still be a member of a G5 conference with very few regional rivals. Now if the AAC were willing to perhaps throw another MW...

i'll just remind everyone that while Yost did work magic in 2018, he did so with a future first-round draft pick and a veteran offensive line. it's a valid question whether Yost made the magic or whether those players made Yost... If we really had serious issues, like a coach raping little boys in the football locker rooms while the administration was trying to cover it up, then I'd be all for exposing the issues and bringing down those responsible, even if it meant gutting the athletic department. If USU had deep and long st...

I have no problem with a person electing to not donate their money due to this mess. Personally I'd like to see the OP choose to donate his money to another area of the university, either another team, or to an academic department, or something like that.

Re: Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
Gotta put on deicer to fly into what we have in Logan right now. Nope, de-ice/anti-ice fluid is only to clean the aircraft prior to takeoff. It "shears" off the aircraft during the takeoff, and once airborne, an airplane's own ice protection equipment handles any potential in-flight icing. In jet a...

Looks like they landed in Logan a few minutes ago. They did not. Diverted to Ogden. Really, why? Happens a lot when visibility is low in Cache Valley due to inversion or cloud conditions or ice on the runway, etc, etc. Not out of the ordinary, especially in winter. I imagine its visibility concerns...

Deicing fluids would be my guess. I believe that is not only to melt snow but mostly prevents aswell. Not sure about that. No reason for Jonesboro to have them but Wichita might ?? :noidea: De-ice fluids are used to clean the aircraft for takeoff. Once airborne, the aircraft's own de-icing/anti-ici...

Re: Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
The aircraft in question, N15CV, is a Cessna Citation Encore. It doesn't really have very long range when heading westbound against winter winds. Not surprising at all that they may have needed a fuel stop.

If those are the front runners it should be Leipold. He is older, but is a fantastic proven coach. Skip Holtz bombed at South Florida and that is why he hasn't got a P5 job offer. Do you like a hiring of Leipold better than Harrell? I’d also be curious on his overall record at Buffalo being .500 ba...

The silence regarding the issues about Gary’s firing speaks volumes. Gary had a very good relationship with the Utah sports media, if he felt he was unjustly fired, he’d have plenty of opportunity to share his story. The fact that there has been nothing but radio silence from Andersen’s side tells m...

Re: Targeting calls
I hate the enforcement of the rule as well. IMHO there needs to be clear intent to hit the head area. Tatum was clearly not targeting the head, the NM QB dropped at the last second. Nobody could have avoided that hit. Either go to flag football, or make the rule acknowledge the reality of the game.

I always thought the issue with Meyers is that he didn't really grow and develop over his time at USU. He came with some raw talent, and left with about the same level of raw talent. The problem is over time, opponents had figured him out, and since he didn't really develop, he didn't have much to f...

I kind of think that one of the things an FCS head coach needs is some experience in an FBS program. If you look at Arslanian, the highest profile school he ever coached at was one year as a GA at Arizona State when there was no FCS/1-AA, and the Sun Devils were members of the WAC. Mick Dennehy had ...

Interesting to take a look at BYU's FB history. Until the mid 1960's BYU played in literally half a stadium and had a hard time filling it. Then htey decided to improve the program. They constructed the first phase of a new stadium and gave away thousands of tickets to LDS youth who came to games w...
