Re: Bracketology Conundrum
Can someone please explain to me how SDSU is a 4 seed? I get that they beat some PAC 12 teams, and Gonzaga, but the rest of their schedule is crap ! They lost to BYU and Grand Canyon. I would like to hear a reasonable explanation of how they are picked and ranked so high when they are in 4th place ...

Re: How to inflate your NET ranking (based on the numbers)
Considering that in each of the previous two seasons we had multiple embarrassing Q4 losses, I don't understand why everyone is so confident that putting together a slate of cupcakes would result in us easily RUTS and gaming the NET. And more importantly, I'm a fan because I enjoy entertaining baske...

Re: KSL's Coverage Bias: Ignoring Utah State's Rise to the Top
KSL is owned and operated by the same organization that owns and operates BYU, so that should tell you all you need to know. KSL and DNews are not "news", they are a propaganda and marketing arm of a business promoting itself and its subsidiaries. EDIT: which can also be said for most corporate own...

Re: Frustrations with NET
We only know the rankings, we don't know the output score for each team. It could very well be the case that say #15-#30 are actually all very tightly grouped in their NET score and therefore minor fluctuations can result in larger movement in the total rankings from day to day.

I would have totally rented them for my 2 year old on several occasions when we forgot her head phones. This would be a great idea. Same. My wife’s ear literally got ruined in the spectrum a few years back. Granted, there was probably a genetic component as well, but still. I've only been to games ...

Re: A game like this should be scheduled again
What is the financial payout difference? If a bigger name opponent will only play us in SLC, and that game will draw enough in ticket sales to offset the extra expenses, then it would make even more sense to play in SLC. If the USU payout is notably less than a regular home game, then it makes the ...

Re: Delta Center crowd
My guess is the overall crowd age was younger . That’s a tough drive from Logan on someone who has poor health. Anecdotally this rings true to me. We ran into a ton of younger alumni from our days in the student section who now all live along the Wasatch front who have trouble making it up to Logan...

We will just get a good player now who is hungry and would have been at Utah had Ike not taken his spot. Right, this isn't a supply of players issue, but a cream rises to the top issue. As long as we're competing in the mountain west, I'm not too worried Overall the MW is all in the same boat. I th...

What I saw were a LOT of dumb mistakes on our part. I think the play calling was good. The offensive line sucked and our quarterbacks/running backs paid the price for it. Remind me how many players we lost to this (I can't express myself without swearing) portal setup? About as many as UNLV that le...

Keep using stats without any context to make your arguments. You can manipulate numbers all you want. Cooper lost the games where teams were half competent. He’s beaten bad teams. The facts it’s even an argument that a True Freshman is pushing a returning senior is just an indictment. You’re not go...

Re: In Defense of Blake
We lost 40 players over the offseason. Many of our top players left. To expect that to have zero impact on a team is ignorant. And to act as if this has absolutely nothing to do with the coach's ability to retain and recruit players is ignorant. Sure, some of it is out of his hands with the new lan...

I think Legas gives us the best chance to win games this season, but Hillstead has the much higher long term potential. As recently as a few years ago, Hillstead would only get some garbage time minutes to get some experience with Legas being the everyday starter, while Hillstead waited for his opp...

I agree that there are certainly things that could be done to improve the gameday experience, but that twitter thread is incredibly whiny. USU has a "major issue" because they won't turn the pre-game music up a little bit and play the music that he likes? Come on. Whiny or not, USU should do whatev...

No matter what happens I think it's only right to give Anderson a mulligan, what with the vast amount of portal departures - especially on the defensive side of the ball. H&H is ideal; 2 for 1 with a money game is fine with me. Our coaches and players might actually show up and look like they give a (I can't express myself without swearing) about playing the game if it's against an in-state rival, unlike our money game last year.

Re: Similar resumes in past teams
Talking about comparing resumes... I keep looking at Pittsburg and comparing it to USUs. I can't figure out why they are 30 positions below us in the NET. Probably because they've played 10 Quad 4 games--6 of which are teams over 300 in the NET--and we only have 3 Quad 4 games. They've played 8 tea...
