Re: Coach Mills

Many Cache Valley folks considered Chuck rather aloof. He joined the Elks Lodge so he would have a place to get a drink and his wife never moved to the valley, if I remember correctly. But he had unflagging loyalty and respect from his assistants and players. He kept his players together for many y...

Loved the old reprobate. My favorite quote, referring to the stogie he was always munching on and rarely lit up: "A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar, that's a smoke!" Chuck was an exceptional hire for Utah State. IIRC he was the D C for the Kansas City Chiefs and wanted to take the next step...

Re: Brock Miller defense

I'm liking the effort, which is dialed up considerably from last season. What better example for the young guards than that? I know I don't have the basketball eye, so I could be wrong, but I don't think his effort is up from last year. As a very firm member of the "stop Brock from shooting" bandwa...

Re: Brock Miller defense

i think that as millers shooting goes, his defense "critiques" follows. He was shooting terrible at times last year and he was also a "bad" defender. this year he is shooting better and all of a sudden his defense is "elite". I'm not sure if the critiques last year were more about why should he be ...

I will be honest I did not have high hopes for ashworth. i was worried about his height and if he could run an offense as a point guard. I was also worried about his defense as well. Fast forward to now and I was completely wrong about him. He is playing so well over the last 5-6 games. He is a goo...

I feel for he and Gary. It's a tough business and this would have been a crappy year to have to perform through. I do however think it's pretty lame to act like there's a problem with John because they moved on. Seems like Gary was given the benefit of the doubt in a lot of ways. It was a real snak...

Several 20-something football players were emotionally charged over a call regar...
