Re: 2024 depth chart tracker
I'm a little worried about the 4. Johnson can play it offensively, but he will struggle on D. Templin is going to be good, but can he stay our of foul trouble. Welling from Irvine would help shore it up when we need a different match up. Him and Gateretse have good length and seem like better shot ...

Re: Visitors this weekend?
Worst case, we get one really good player and one dedicated scout team player. To be blunt, every year we have guys on the team who aren't going to get on the floor. If that's what one half of the Welling turns out to be, that's no big deal. The fact that they're getting to play together is cool (l...

Re: Visitors this weekend?
More questions than answers: 1. Are both brothers signing? 2. Are these the two supposedly spotted at Herms? (also reported that they weren't white...so more questions there??) 3. Is this one of the two Aggies22 said would be announcing this week? is the brother the other one? or is there some othe...

Re: Drake allen
I concur that he is a definite upgrade over Jackson. However, other than being very excited about hanging on to our core from last year, I am underwhelmed by almost every other move. On paper Albury and Gateretse are better right now coming to USU than the Montana State guys were this time last yea...

2024 depth chart tracker
Now that the team is really starting to take shape, wanted to get a depth chart going as we add our last couple of pieces to the roster. PG: Albury, Allen SG: Ian, Falslev, Albury SF: Falslev, Uduje, Ian PF: Fish, Templin C: Gateretse, Fish That 8 man rotation alone looks very solid on paper. Basica...

Yeah I’d take the Welling bros even if one isn’t very good. Being from Utah they make stick around too if both can play out their careers here.
Carter seems like the type who will flourish over the next 3 years

Re: MW transfer portal tracker
MW will be strong again next year
I’m starting to thing that the transfer rules will still be a net positive for the MW, but it’s gonna be tough to get deep in the tourney when like 10ish power conf teams are absolute power houses every year

Seems like a pretty huge upgrade at the backup PG spot compared to what we had last year, allows Albury to play a bit off the ball if necessary too.

Really just need a couple more rotation guys and dudes that will accept roles. The below is close to an entire rotation already. Missing maybe two guys? I think we need a backup center that will accept his role, and then either a backup primary ballhandler or someone in that 6'7 to 6'9 range that c...

Rumor was Barnes was offered PWO previously but Calhoun wouldn’t commit the NIL money required to cover the expenses.

Huh. After watching his clip I'm struggling to understand why he wasn't even more dominant playing against bad teams and why he played only 24 mpg? He's got great size, he's coordinated, and seems to be a decent finisher around the hoop. Maybe it's simply just an issue of still growing into his bod...

Re: Current State of USU Basketball
If Great leaves, I personally think a need is a bigger, more physical player in the post. I love Big Fish and the addition of Gateretse. But the MWC is a physical conference. Will Templin develop enough to play that role next season? I hope so. But I would like to see another big body veteran (mayb...

Massive get. More size and defense than Great, his efficiency ratings were head and shoulders above all the other starters on Stetson We kicked off the portal with 2 huge gets. I’m on the verge of dropping college sports fandom all together. I don’t want to, but this is all so disheartening. What’s the point? There is no joy anymore. Am I the only one that thinks Ian is probably worth the $200k in NIL money he’s asking for? Like that ask doesn’t seem crazy to me for a player of his caliber in a universe where Dallin Hall wants $600k and Steven Ashworth is getting $400k. Ian is a better player than either of those two. In a vacu...

I guess this how it feels to be a championship or second level soccer team over in England. They get their best players poached all the time, it’s essentially going to become a 2 tiered system now since the ncaa can’t do (I can't express myself without swearing) about it. Re: 2024-25 Roster & Commits
Honestly these days it doesn’t matter much. Grant is a big body and at least has experience with the team, he’s probably more valuable to us than a HS recruit who will redshirt, although I hope Calhoun finds a way to bring in Dynes for the backup C spot. Unless there’s a way to get both Hill and Wyn...

Back to Albury, super impressive highlight tape. Different style of game from Brown for sure, he can get to the hoop against anyone and has way more length. If he can keep his shooting numbers up he will be a great scorer for us
