Re: NHL to Utah official! What's next?

I'd prefer the name to be something unique, like the Seattle Kraken. I know most don't care, but outlaws and Mammoth are both lacrosse teams in Colorado. Blizzard feels like a copy of avalanche. I don't know of any sports teams called Yeti, but that doesn't feel unique to Utah. Hockey Club is very ...

Why would you name a team after the concept of being large?

Mammoths, I could understand, but singular? Absurd.
Love Mammoth and would be ok with singular or plural...Just too cool of a mascot

Re: Roddie Anderson lll

Genuinely curious what people like about Roddy’s game. If not for the name on the back of his jersey, nobody would be clamoring for us to go after a backup PG who couldn’t cut it for Boise State. If our new guy is who I believe it is, I’m far more excited about him than I would be for Roddy. He’s a...

Unfortunately Roddie was a liability for Boise in extended minutes at the point due to his shooting. If he did come here, I hope it would only be for limited minutes, which I doubt is what he is looking for

Re: Current State of USU Basketball

I doubt the importance of recruiting Utah is lost on Coach Calhoun. The most likely conclusion is that he just wasn’t all that enamored with Barnes and Cox. I will be honest, I wasn’t either. I do feel bad that this has left both of them in a lurch. Why didn't they sign in the Fall? Was Sprinkle se...

Re: Great Osobor

Great Osobor is a very good basketball player. However, without Darius Brown and being the star of a team, he'll likely take a few steps backward. It'll be interesting to see if Kentucky can find a PG to feed him. Unlikely in today's game of basketball to find that kind of PG. Darius Brown was one ...

Was really hoping we would get this guy! When you put the two commits that Calhoun has reeled in so far paired with the people he has been able to retain, I think things are looking really good, not just for next year, but for the capability of the new staff to get talented players. Would be complet...

They will be playing the the delta center. that has already been decided. The Grizzlies will still plan in the Maverik Center, at least for next year.

I kind of like Snow Eagles

But I think all signs point to Yetis. And yes, it needs to be Yetis, Yeti...the plural ends with an 's'

Utah Phoenix actually makes some sense because the name Utah literally means People of the Sun or something like that. How about the Utah Cut Throats (after the trout). The frozen fish LOL. Blaine Spires, Sir Mells, EJ Fisk. EJ Fisk came from a JC, and would be eligible to transfer. Didn't we get Spires from Bowling Green and Mells from Oregon? Haven't they already used their 1 transfer? Fisk was just a guess. Mells was an educated guess and Spires I just said because that would suck....

Honestly, outside UCONN, I like our chances against that list. UCONN is going to be looking to replace Clingan's production primarily, and Great plays in a similar bracket to Samson Johnson. I'd think going there is more of a gamble to start. Playing for a blue blood could be the dream, but even th...
