There was a time when the student part of the equation was really important. I miss that time. It was never important. We just pretended like it was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Another perspective - when I was a student, I was envious of anyone on an athletic scholarship. I understood...as ...

Something somewhere along the line with Tod Kowalczyk changed. I spoke with FOUR non-USU, unrelated sources who were all SURE it was going to be Tod Kowalczyk. Coaches from other schools talk, athletic department people from other schools talk, agents talk, and people talk. I spent nearly 2 days wo...

Contracts are going to be needed. If the NIL money being given to an athlete is tied to a years, games played, etc. If they are being treated as a professional athlete then they shouldn't be able to hit free agency every year unless they are signing 1 year agreements. THIS!!! This "system" is absol...

If / when the Beavs and Cougs officially join, am I the only one that prefers to keep the conference name Mountain West? I like that it reflects both that the conference has a distinct regional footprint, and with the success we continue to have as a conference, the brand value continues to grow. Ta...

Man, all you have to do is win. It's the tournament and MW teams are getting paired with middle of the pack P5 schools. We either win or shut up. Exactly...my buddies back east can't believe the MW got 6 teams in the tourny. They are in utter disbelief that what they see as a mediocre conference th...

Re: MWC Schools
The risk right now is that Oregon State and Washington State are scheming to try and steal only a portion of the MWC schools, rather than do a full merger. Unfortunately, there are a few backstabber schools in the MWC that could be interested in helping them do this---namely the California schools....

When will the charade of "student" be dropped and players don't even have to go to classes? That seems to be the logical progression, and at that point, it truly is a professional league.

Say what you will, but I live out of state and a guy I work (with no connection at all to MW teams) said he saw this story...said it seemed like a "classless thing to do". There is always more to the story...but perceptions matter. There was zero up-side to putting the coach in that position. I don'...

Never thought I'd see 5 teams projected from the MW. Aggies projected as a 6...against Grand Canyon. Man, I'd hate that match-up.
Should take a snap-shot...might never see that again.
