Re: what i know

I wonder what the definition of "big name program" is. Sarkisian, for example, makes almost triple Gary's USU salary as 'Bama OC. Even a place like Oklahoma State pays it's OC double. Start getting into the mid-tier P5 programs and there might be a financial incentive to take the USU HC job, but at ...

Re: Any chance for MWC football this fall

Yesterday, Wilner said that the new daily testing contract the Pac12 got might enable them to have a fall season, but pointed out that, in order to comply with NCAA regs, they apparently wouldn't be able to start games until probably around Thanksgiving. I don't what all those regs are to which he r...

#59 Trey Dye a rb at byu. He is a junior that redshirted last year. Career stats his first 2 years in Provo were 5 rushes for -3 yards and 7 catches for 75 yards. I'd assume a 2nd team guy this year. Wonder how he compares to Hunt or Hervey. Wow, so you're telling me that a running back with a nega...

I'm not sure that taking a mean average is a sound form of technical analysis. Using that method, Utah and Utah State come out looking identical. Do a trend analysis, however, and the future prospects for each look very, very different. That said, I've always been more of a fundamental analysis kind...

Matt Wells nearly to OSU?

On XM 84 this morning, they were talking about Gary Andersen. Neuheisel then said something that might be common ...

I hope the people that were predicting byu would start the season 0 - 7 aren't the same ones that predicted usu would go to a bowl and Wyoming would be a sure win for the Aggies. That's what makes college football so great. Pre-season predictions are often completely worthless and almost anyone can...

The big 12 payout to schools stays the same, even if they add members, per their contract. if this is the case the new schools would get almost nothing (it might even be a net negative for some) - why would they join? The payout per school stays the same. If they negotiate a graded share initially,...

Your analysis is pretty good, but BYU's endowment number in your chart is wrong. Someone must have mistyped it at USNWR because it's actually $1.47B according to more official sources. http://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d15/tables/dt15_333.90.asp When I was a student in BYU's business school, I work...

Enrollment numbers don't tell the story when it comes to fan base. UofU is considered the flagship university of the state and gets a draw due to that among Utahns in general. Of course, we know where BYU draws their fanbase. USU, despite having comparable enrollments, doesn't draw as well from out...

The Big 12 held a "HYPOTHETICAL" vote yesterday in which university presidents cast their votes for schools they'd like to see be invited to join the conference *IF* they ever decide to expand. BYU and Houston both got the most votes. This doesn't mean anything right now, but it does bode well for ...

The Mountain West won't exist in it's current form 5 years from now. The landscape is changing too quickly and those at Utah State's level will be left on the outside looking in. If Utah State doesn't prepare themselves and make a jump to the next level we will need to be satisfied with dropping to...

I do wish that these two teams would stop injuring each other's quarterbacks every year, though. No one benefits from it.

If there are any USU players/coaches reading this, please win the MWC. Don't be like Utah and turn the BYU game into your whole season.

I don't think BYU's defense is near what it has been the last couple years. They have given up 25 and 33 points the last two home games.
