Re: TAMPERING
Here's a quote from Eric Laub in a Tribune Article: “The frustrating part is there are so many slimy agents and third-party people that will reach out to players that we have, both football and basketball, right now. They will say, ‘Hey, I’m not affiliated with this university. But if you come here,...

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
Wow, we do have a thin-skinned group here. I'm not bashing A22. He said Pope to UW. This shirt isn't ugly. I agree with many of you that it's fluid and he presented data when he had it. It's important because it's good to know that our best source of truth isn't always 100% accurate. For those piss...

Re: NAR Pitino to Louisville
Not that I want to relish in New Mexico losing their coach, but it does make me feel slightly better about our revolving coach's door situation at USU. For a while I've been dumbfounded at how Boise, Fort Collins, ABQ, Reno can hang on to coaches for at least a couple of years, but we couldn't.

Re: Aggies22 missed twice but I still love his posts
I think you misunderstood was 22 was saying. He never said Pope was going to Washington and he never said Sprinkles wasn't going to Washington. He said Pope wants out of ybu and never insinuated that Sprinkles wanted to stay in Logan. I appreciate what Aggie22 brings to the table. You know what he s...

Re: Kowalczyk - Toledo
I see lots of positives with Kowalczyk, but perhaps my favorite is that he's 57 and has been at both of his HC gigs for 8+ years. Can't imagine a guy like that would be looking to bolt soon after getting here. I refuse to believe any coach coming here is in for the long haul. I don’t care what they...

Re: Sprinkle will gut the program
It’s not that we might have a down season or two. It’s the total lack of any continuity or identity in the program. It will be difficult to find the motivation to support a program when it is a bunch of new paid professionals with no connection to the University or the community each year I think t...

I'd love to see Cardenas come to Logan. His talent matched up with what we potentially have coming back could be a lethal combination. (I'm thinking positive here)

The e contracts need to be through the corporation providing the NIL. “We will pay you $$ if you play for us, but you have to stay for X years, if not, you void the contract and pay back $$ in fees.” The school doesn’t have to be a part of it, the NIL organization can take care of it itself. I like...

Re: With our tanking NET, we are going to get jobbed on a seed
Sorry, but I agree with jp. Something is screwed up with the NET for USU to keep dropping. We win the games we are supposed to. Shouldn't matter whether is is pretty or ugly. The NET is screwing us. The NET doesn't know who we are. It doesn't have a bias. It's simply a formula. It looks at offensiv...

Here is the same analysis but with all conference outcomes (except head-to-head) where locations aren't always equivalent: https://i.postimg.cc/75Y0tTtF/analysis2.jpg Do I ruin it if I indicate who Team 1 and Team 2 are? I agree that Team 2 looks more dominant here, but we beat Team 2 twice. So the...

Re: The Net rankings are losing my trust
In addition to what others have said, you can't look at our NET ranking in a vacuum. Sure we underperformed yesterday and that hurt us. In addition to that though, teams behind us overperformed and passed us. Texas was a 3.5 point dog on the road in a Q1 game and won by 12...they passed us. Villano...

Very interesting watch from Scott Van Pelt from ESPN talking about the Net effect of RUTS and SOS. He picks on Iowa State a little bit, but it is most of the Big 12. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39615642/scott-van-pelt-clemson-tigers-brad-brownell-net-rankings Calling Sta...

I went to a camp under Motta as a teenager., he didn't take crap from a few teenagers goofing off. Not getting into the weeds so deep. I spoke to a member of the coaching staff at a game early in the season (very early) and he told me that he felt that this team was capable of winning an NCAA tourney game. As I watch the season play out, I'm trying to change my mind set. Sure, we want to win out...

Re: NET ranking unchanged
I understand what you are saying Paco, I really do. But at some point you have to remove yourself from the inner workings of the algorithms and look at things holistically. It’s flat out asinine that a team like Wake jumped us in the net in a single night of play given the games that were played.

Re: NET ranking unchanged
The NET uses a consistent formula with multiple factors. I find it funny every time some quotes a single factor and then says the impact to NET doesn’t make sense based on that single factor. How did all of Boise’s opponents do? How close was Boise in the calculated NET to those teams they jumped? ...

The result of the game last night is what should have happened when the NET 18 team plays the NET 30 team on the NET 30 team’s home floor. I don’t take issue with the lack of movement. What is a little silly is a team moving up a ton for blasting a bad team. How so? Winning does nothing for your ne...
