Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread

If we're looking for a PG, I hope the staff at least takes a look at Deng Dut from College of Southern Idaho who just decommitted from the University of Portland of the WCC. He's from Australia. He was Region 18 POY, 14.7 ppg, 49% from 3, 51% overall fg, 85% ft, 5.1 apg, 5.4 rbg. His highlight vide...

Re: Craig Smith says he wants to play Utah State

If I'm in attendance I won't be booing. I would probably give the guy a standing ovation for pulling our program out of the ashes that Duryea left us in and bringing us to three straight NCAA tournaments and multiple MW Championships. Not sure, but my guess would be that now that he's got the sweet P5 type $$$ he doesn't have to do the 4 for 4 deal at Wendy's anymore. Time for some Ruth's Chris baby....

Re: Future recruiting advice for Odom

I won't be surprised when the only real high school recruiting we do is going after mission kids because they are more likely to remain at Utah State once they get here. And we've typically had tremendous success with mission kids. They play very well once they return. Says Jordan Stone, Danny Berg...

I like some of the guys we have returning, but we obviously have some gaping, GAPING holes now with who we have lost. I hope Odom can get some dudes in quickly. He needs to finish up his staff and move ASAP.

Craig didn't do us any favors. He negotiated a decrease in the buyout from 75% of the remaining salary to 30% of the remaining salary in 2019. Then in 2020 he negotiated it down to 25% of the remaining salary. Sure, he added a couple years to the contract, but going from 75% of the salary to 25% of ...

Accepting an offer from Utah shows he doesn’t care about USU? It is a business decision. Sports isn’t a war between good and evil where actual lives are being lost. Sports is just entertainment and a chance to step away from real problems once in awhile. I’m in the camp that believes we will be wor...

You know what isn't easy for a Power Conference AD to sell to their fans? This coach lost the MWC tournament, has never won a regular season title- and lost in the round of 64 or 32. Sounds like some hyperbole on both sides. Shulga is a great 8th man off the bench. I feel more comfortable with him out there than Bairstow at this point. Bairstow has some offensive skill, but turns the ball over way too much.

Why the hate for Shulga? Kid is solid and has consistently improved all season. Makes good basketball decisions, doesn't turn the ball over, plays good defense and can knock down open shots...

I'm happy for him and expect him to continue to improve.

I actually think Bean needs to keep shooting the 3 for a few reasons. 1. I think the shots will start to fall. It doesn't look as bad as the numbers say, it actually looks like a nice shot and many are close misses/rimming out, and if he's being left wide open he can prob hit it 25-30% in a larger ...

Re: Bean & Queta Scoring #'s

Bean taking 3’s takes him out of the picture of what he does best — get offensive rebounds. We have a few serviceable 3-point shooters — Miller, Anderson, Ashworth and even Anthony. Although I am perplexed as to why Anthony can hit 40% of his threes het only 63% of his FTs — barely better than Quet...
