Re: Did we learn anything from the St Katherine game?

Any of us who have played have been told that a shot with a good arch is better than a flat one for obvious reasons, but sometimes I feel like Miller's is gonna disappear in the stratosphere. Almost seems too exaggerated but what do I know.

I'm sure all of you are taking TrollBoy's statements as the honest truth, but before you go all in on all his opinions, you might want to review this thread to see how he does on projecting returning players, point spreads, etc.

Troll alert! This is the same guy from last year that was crowing about both the McDaniels bros being on the floor this year.

Yes. They were trying to make sense of it, but seemed to want to ignore the fact that he was practicing, traveling with the team and was in a limited way participating in pre game warmups. So instead of using common sense they were just rambling on with unfounded rumors and innuendo. What bothered m...

Re: Bean's other stats

That's twice now in crunch time when the other team has screwed the pooch by trying to lob the ball over Bean. The ref was right there, and we didn't get a good camera angle, but that ball couldn't have been out more than a quarter of an inch. Big break there!

Anybody who at any point started or spread any rumors about Nemi’s academic eligibility can go promptly and directly to hell. Thank you.
Just scan the Queta posts and you'll know who they are and can discredit anything they say from here on.

But seriously. Anyone who doubled down on the academic ineligibility stuff should feel ashamed.

There is got to be a joke with me at this point. I have come close or been exact with almost every game with how many points the opponent scores. I might have been so far the best at picking the opponent score here.
I thought the joke was some of your point spreads. :joking:

LeBlanc is the only one who has left the team with legal problems. Lots of teams will be after the PG.

I still doubt that an academically ineligible player would be allowed to practice, travel with the team and even participate in pre-game warmups. Just an assumption on my part but it seems logical to me. And if this were true, why did he pull his name out of the draft, knowing that he wouldn't be pl...

Last year I would instantly gasp and cringe when Bean would put the ball on the floor. He's improved so much in that area, although I still get edgy with the behind the back move.

Oh boy, here we go again. Fellas, don't be surprised when we don't recruit a point guard.
I could see that coming a mile away. Smith and co. have no clue and we should turn recruiting over to the board.

Re: Now why isn't Fonzo starting again???

I always get a little uneasy when my team starts out on a 12-2 run to start, unless it's against inferior competition (which I don't think No. Texas was). Invariably the other team makes a run, and that's when guys like Brito and Anderson coming in fresh really helps to stem the tide. DI basketball ...

I've been a little suspicious about this myself, but if he was academically ineligible, would he be allowed to travel with the team? Edit: Taking it one step further, would be be allowed to practice and participate in pre-game warm-ups. Unless someone has unimpeachable evidence of this, I think it's...

Sometimes the best five players should not be the starters. Exactly. I don't see the starting five changing except for Queta, but when it's all said and done, Anderson and Brito are going to be playing more minutes that a couple of the present starters. Having them coming off the bench is such a bo...

Their best player is 6'1" Soph. Umoja Gibson the leading scorer at 12.8 ppg. The rest of their starters all average between 6.5 and 8.2. Looks like they only go about 7 deep. 3 guard/2 forward lineup with the bigs 6'8" and 6'10". Gibson appears to be the only deep threat as he's averaging 41% on 6 3...

Lack of athleticism

So maybe the cure for guys getting beat on the dribble-drive and getting to the hoop, would be a shot-changing, shot blocking presence, with a finger wag for punctuation. Wonder where we could find a guy like that? Probably a pipe dream, but man this team would be scary with someone like that to mas...

Remember at this time last year Abel was a backup to Ainge. He was inserted into the starting lineup with nothing to lose. I seem to remember that even though you said we weren't "recruiting" a PG, it didn't mean that the staff wasn't looking. I took it as meaning that they just weren't sold on what was available (that we had a chance at) that would fit. I noticed the references in chat also, along with the comments tha...

Will this be a Quad 1 win?

LSU will have to end up in the top 50 for it to count as a Quad 1 win on a neutral floor. They were picked 3rd pre season I believe but those assumptions have already been muddied. From Busting Brackets: (obviously not too enamored with USU or VCU) With that, LSU will get through non-conference play...

Re: Aggies are 1.5 point favorites over LSU.

The biggest take away for me in this game is that the prospective replacement for Smith was not in the chat room tonight. First off, to mess with the starting lineup and rotation of Brito and Fonz off the bench would be coaching malpractice.

I recall times last year when we held or increased our leads when Nemi was on the bench with foul trouble or getting a breather. And I also think the repeated angst over the problems that Washington's defense and athleticism presented us, seem to pass over the fact that Nemi got manhandled down low....
