Re: Justin Bean Off Season Work

The shot does look better and hopefully the hitch doesn't creep back in. Slow and low release, but if he can knock down a decent percentage of wide-open 3's, it's another weapon in the arsenal.

No surprises. But I gotta say reading through the new guys profiles I’m excited for all of them. But vedischev profile is really impressive.

I'll be much more excited when they all are in the country.

Re: Interview with Hoops prospect R.J. Keene

Nah, spuds has a point. Boise is a bit more happening than Logan. Plus, he might play a more pivotal role for them than he would for us. He might have built a better repertoire with the coaching staff in Boise than here. They're looking like the better team next year. Maybe he didn't want to go to ...

If the basketball season gets delayed and shortened to basically just conference games, wouldn't that just about guarantee the MWC to be a one bid league?

Well since we're talking about laps, some 35 years ago while I was sitting on a bar stool (couldn't figure out a dismount), talking to two buddies in a almost empty bar, this young lady walked in and I said "Wow...she could sit on my lap anytime!" She came in to look for a friend of hers that was su...

Maybe I missed this being mentioned, but possibly of interest is that our old adversary Nembhard from Florida is transferring to Gonzaga. He will have to sit out this year. We need to do all we can to get Gonzaga in this conference. They really raise the profile of the wcc. They have become a top 5...

I am more confused than all of you. So, we had one scholarship left that was said would go unused, and now we offer a kid a scholarship, and the numbers don't add up? What am I missing? With this signing, most of the Aggies’ scholarship players are foreign, from Canada, Australia, Poland (2), Ukrai...

Re: New commit from Russia

With the timing of this, earlier statements from Smith and the belief that the roster for this year was set, I just have to think that the staff thought this was an opportunity too good to pass up. I'm not a fan of his shooting mechanics, but if it works...who cares?

Hadn't noticed this before, but at about the :20 second mark an Aztec brushed Brito as he was crouched on the floor and Diogo seems to have taken offense and was starting after him and the ref stepped in. Nothing intentional, but just perhaps Diogo's emotions were running at the red line at that mom...

Re: Recruiting

Maybe my memory needs refreshed, but the only game I recall where full court pressure bothered us was New Mexico in the 2018-19 season. Washington gave us problems with their half-court 1-3-1, but that was more us having a lack of players who could drive and kick. Zone full court pressure relies mor...

With the length we have across the board, I have a feeling we might be utilizing that 1-3-1 zone even more. Certainly not going away from man to man as the primary, but mixing it in more often and earlier. I thought having Miller at the point on it was effective and disguised his weaknesses at the s...

I would assume that the 2 mission years, in some cases adds a bit to the mental and maturity issues, but whether that helps make up for the lack of physically being away from the sport probably depends on the individual.

I have to be honest, though. If I was to compile a list of my favorite games the Pack has been in over my long years on the planet, the games against Utah State would not be ones I would consider. Not surprising since Nevada usually chokes in the close games against USU. Since you haven’t experienc...

Just to clarify, IF he has an agent, and still doesn't get drafted, does that preclude coming back? We went through this with the Queta thing last year and can't remember what the final verdict was.

I believe in another thread Spuds thought it was 50/50. The question I have is whether he has retained an agent? I don't see him listed in any mocks that have done 2 rounds, so I'm wondering if he still might be eligible to return. I guess G-League is another option.

Hard to say year in and year out, but last year another game with New Mexico and Nevada would have looked a lot better than St. Kath and EOU. Or EMU and UMBC for that matter.

This was alluded to another thread, but after looking at Gath's stats and seeing he's a 25% shooter from 3pt area, it's weird that we get so excited about guys that shoot worse than Miller/Brito/Porter.
