It’s a source, but a restaurant owner said Calhoun was in town with players within the last 24 hours. Take it for what it is.
Others this week were Tod Toledo and SDSU guy.

I hate to admit it, but this might be a good hire and somebody who would stay. Granted, it’s hard to argue that the formula has worked.

Brother Bovee didn’t do his home teaching and wasn’t very honest in his dealings.
Danny was vocal about it by the second month he was here.

As long as Jerry Bovee is here Chuckie ain’t coming back. Jerry fired him. Upstaged Blake in the process. If you know, you know.

Re: Changes coming to the AD
Why yes indeed, good guy and wants to be an Aggie qualifies them to stay forever. It checks out if we want to stay on this path of mid to upper tier for G5. Alternate universe BA or Duryea or whomever has four losing (or fundraising years) seasons in a row. At the top of responsibilities is winning ...

If we weren't contacting big donors why are we promoting people? Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk Because it wasn’t a promotion. I asked a friend at advancement. She sent me this link and said “you decide, no comment.” Lateral but no more employee oversight. We weren’t getting it done. Changes ...

Re: Changes coming to the AD
We are saying the same thing. The coach was just using September to enforce Bovee won’t be involving himself in the program when Sept. 1 rolls around. I’ve met Ryan too and is a nice guy but that doesn’t mean we don’t need changes. It sounds like for three years we had a losing season in fundraising...

It’s Bovee. But not dat Bovee. His son who was hired by daddy to work in ticket office. Kidding on him being let go but seriously how does daddy get his son who is still an undergrad get a job. We keep treating USU AD as a family business. Keep it in the family. It’s not. We need somebody who has ties and experience elsewhere. Not a Utah-lifer. I really like Bovee but he isn’t what we need. Plus him overseeing football during recent issues doesn’t bode well for him. My ideal is get somebo...

Re: Colorado to B12
I don’t think he has a chance to stay. Not natural for the business. Would be MY ideal. It helps that Laub has told his people that he wants & supports Bovee. But I also don’t like the thought of him making another hire for us. Maybe Laub feels like others, more experienced may cut him out or his ro...

Bovee, Barnes (another Barnes AD) have been confirmed to me as finalists.
Unconfirmed from multiple sources but have been said to me by one are Leon Jackson, Craig Pintens and Monica LeBron. I think it’s a five person finalist round. Think.

Winter is coming. Bovee oversaw football during the incident in 2020 and other recent issues. If only we could have picked off Gonzaga a few years back. JH said it was a done deal to a group of us—until 11:59 PM sweetheart deal from WCC.
I’d imagine if SDSU bolts that Hawaii as a R1 might be in play for a full time member. Or kick tires on Grand Canyon?

I mean I’d want to stay at a job when making $200k+ as a number 2. Not sure on that number but fairly positive.
The bigger question is does a new AD want to keep him? I’d imagine most want to hire their own right hand man or woman.

NIL Aggie Hoops 22 Help!
22 I was told that we had a large sum of $$$ sitting in the pot for hoops. We gave large checks out as a one-time payment in April to entice players to stay. Aggie admin help “broker” the funds. I mean successful at a high-school level. Surely with the six-figure salary we could have managed to get some names.
I know we had sitting head coaches who were finalists. Ran into her at the airport (!) plus we had the Idaho State HC involved.
