Re: Merrill approaching 2,000 career points

This is so cool to see him listed among the names of Aggie hoops royalty. I couldn't happen to a better dude and the awesome thing about him is, he's WANTED to wear Aggie blue and white from birth. That what makes him so special is his passion for the aggies and that he has been an aggie all his li...

Re: Bodie Reeder, the next OC

I like the hire. He seems to want to use what he has with maximum efficiency while I think his general philosophy aligns with GA. I think some offense struggles were magnified by the OC and the head coach wanting to change the offense. I think getting first downs and scoring are fun no matter how y...

Re: Staff Shakeup Ena out as DC

Frank stated at the press conference today that there will be a return to the 3-4 defense. He specifically named running something similar to what was run in 2018. The Aggie Gods are smiling right now. This is great news as we for sure don't have the horses/depth to run 4 down lineman. With switchi...

Re: UNM player woes continue...

Do we want them to win or do we want them to lose? We only play them once, if they lose to all the other conference teams, then it will be better for the rest of the conference teams that we play twice and for our strength of schedule. They wont be a Q1 win for us. Part of me wants NM to lose becau...

Re: Staff Shakeup Ena out as DC

I'm not at all concerned about the Co-coordinator title with Frank and Stacy. These two guys have worked together for how many years together now? I believe they will have their roles and duties defined where they're not trying to compete with each other. This isn't like two new guys getting togeth...

Re: A Synopsis of the Defensive Scheme Argument

I agree, not sure what to think of the CO-DC gig, but I like the people in those roles. Frank needs to be back on defense so that is good. I give credit to Gary for making this decision, i am sure those were not easy conversations. Excited to see how it turns out. Now please just don't run the 4 dli...

Re: Bodie Reeder, the next OC

I love having a FB/H-back. Yup. I hope this means we won’t be doing any more zone reads out of shotgun on 3rd and inches anymore. One of the huge problems with the Zone read this year with our offense is we didn't give love the opportunity to run that much. People were just keying in on the running...

I'm hopeful. I really like the idea that he's not bound to one tightly-integrated system but instead will do whatever it takes. I like that to. There was so many times this past year it's we just went fast fast fast even though it wasn't working. I hope we use multiple formations Target the edges, ...

Not sure what to think but i will give Gary credit for not settling for status quo. I am hopeful we can get things headed in the right direction on defense. So we need a running backs coach and somebody for special teams correct?

Re: Bodie Reeder, the next OC

The plan is to run as similar a system as we had during Chuckie Keetons freshman and sophomore seasons. Spread offense, interchangeable running backs, two tight ends at times (like how DJ Tialavea and Kellen Bartlett were used simultaneously) but still throw 3, 4, and even 5 WRs out there at times....

Re: Bodie Reeder, the next OC

It is no secret that Gary hated the hurry up offense this last year. Granted at time the offense was really putrid. We should see a whole new offense with the style that Gary wants to run which is to use multiple running backs and tight ends. He seems like he has a good offensive mind and I like the...

Re: Bodie Reeder, the next OC

It looks his offense was 4th out of all teams in conference USA so that is not terrible. Looks like he also was an offensive coordinator at EWU for a year. If this hiring is true not sure what to think as I have no real knowledge of the guy.

Be intersting who leach takes with him to MSU. If he takes a lot that will affect their team. The other thing is is he let them know so late generally in mid-January you're not trying to find a new coach. So the new coach has to go out and find a bunch of his assistants this could definitely impact ...

We need to look no farther than the MWC stats to see our problem. We are dead last in the conference in 3-point % and second to last in overall FG %. https://themw.com/stats.aspx?path=mbball&year=2019&conf=true Great post it really comes down to if we can increase our 3-point shooting to even 35 to...

The one time Miller pump faked and drove he banked in a layup. Great play. Pump fake step back threes are such a low percentage play that even NBA guys don’t take them often. Bairstow fed the post a lot and had two and one off pump fake drives to the basket. Great plays. Sent from my iPhone using T...

Brito and Miller, and to lesser extents, Merrill, Porter and Bean are in shooting slumps. It's rare to have this many of your best players go through a slump at the same time. Much needed indeed. Great to see the effort and energy back but 29% from 3 still signals we have major issues on offense. The one thing is that he did have 5 turnovers.
No doubt this is true, but Bairstow getting 23 minutes against Nevada is a big deal.
Outside of the turnovers he was awesone. He is gaining confidence and it is awesome to see.

Re: Predict the Score - 1/11 BB vs Nevada

This game will either make or break the rest of our season. In my opinion after a three game skid we need this team to finally show up and put their egos aside and play like a championship squad. Looking at the early success we had at the beginning of the season, it was due to Alphonso Anderson and...

On the “Aggies” theme, don’t rule out UC Davis offensive coordinator, Tim Plough. I actually think this is the perfect type of Team you should be scheduling as one of your non-conference games. We already schedule BYU every year and then a money game. I think it is super important to have another game against a division 1 opponent that is a very winnable game for us.

I actually love the game with UCONN. It is a winnable game and an opponent we never play. We already play BYU and a money game. This gives us a great opportunity to at least go 2-2 in non conference play for those years. I would also like us to start doing home/home with members of the MAC conference.
