Idaho State HC comparing the Hurd to the Show

Saw this post-game interview with Idaho State HC Cody Hawkins when reading about Saturday's game. It gave me a pretty good laugh. "Nobody ever dreams about playing in a stadium that feels like last week's did" Comments start around 1:18 https://www.facebook.com/IdahoStateFB/videos/340664354964261/

Re: USU Women's Bball

https://www.theaggship.com/utah-state-wbb-lineup-projection/ Great article from The Aggship projecting a depth chart. It's so nice to have someone covering USU athletics who cares about some of the smaller sports for a change. The way I see it - the starting lineup should be okay. Not great, but th...

Re: Volleyball Season Outlook

It seems pretty shortsighted to have note put more seating in the Estes Center. Completely agree. Building a facility with such limited seating and which can't accommodate the women's basketball team for home games is beyond just shortsighted, it's idiotic. The Estes is a nice facility, but is comp...

Re: Volleyball Season Outlook

I'm very excited for volleyball season. We've got an MW champion, NCAA Tournament team with a phenomenal coach and nearly every starter returning. They're going to be very, very good. They've got a tough schedule too.

Re: USU Women's Bball

With Kayla's off court antics, I don't understand how there wasn't a reason to give her the Chuckie Keeton treatment. Because Chuckie didn't have 3 years left on his contract... You think that would have given them cause without honoring her contract. I think you are probably right, but if you fire...

I don’t know specifically how this team plans to use their assistants, but men’s and women’s basketball teams starting this year are allowed to have two more assistant coaches than in the past. In most cases, teams are having support staff (DOBOs, video coordinators, analytics specialists, etc.) ta...

Re: SDSU gives notice

While it would be fun to be one of the NCAA's "big boys", I just don't think that's a realistic expectation or even goal for Utah State. And I'm perfectly fine with that. I think the MWC is a great league and I personally enjoy being able to regularly compete for conference championships and be some...

I've made a lot of negative comments on this thread, and for that, I apologize. Very strong hire and makes me wonder if Bovee made the move and we might see Woolley as interim sooner rather than later. Just give him the keys. Re: USU Women's Bball

Ard getting a five-year contract with the resume she had was inexcusable for our level of program. If a multi-year contract were necessary at all, a three-year with an auto-trigger for extensions based on criteria would have been the way to go. The fact that she sticks around with her performance a...

It's definitely possible that Judge is a home run hire (forgive the pun) and Jerry really saw something in him that stood out during the interview process despite his lack of D1 experience. I'm willing to reserve judgement until we see what happens on the field. I'd just say that I had a similar fee...

I'm a little bit surprised at how quiet things have been in regards to the AD search. G-league coaching isn't glamorous or lucrative, but it's respected by NBA front offices. It's a better path to NBA than most college jobs. I hope it works out for him. Well most sure because most college jobs are mid to low major programs. If you are a successful high major coach you'll have a much...

It looks like Ard has now promoted Claire Gritt to assistant coach to fill Ross James' spot. This is a good move for the conference, but I think a bad one for USU. Essentially we replace BYU and SUU (both very good programs) with AF and SJSU (both very poor programs).

I hope that there are plans to add more teams in the near future.

I'm not sure if it's feasible, but I'd love to see USU try to work out games with some of the lower-tier Big East teams (DePaul, Butler, etc.) in the future.
