How many wins does one need for bowl games? Are bowls even going to happen?
I wouldn't want to sponsor a bowl that can't have anyone at it.
Bowls are happening. Two have cancelled but the rest are on. No win requirement for bowls this year. Simply who does the bowls pick.

Alright so Bovada has our O/U for wins at 3 wins. If it was 2.5 I would feel really good about betting the over. What say y'all? Worth betting the house on the over?

I still don't love us just being the U's cast offs every year. I think it can hurt us in recruiting if we are constantly bringing in grad transfers from Salt Lake. That said, each of the transfers we've gotten have performed well. So its kinda like an addiction, it helps for a little while but after...

They have already addressed item 4. Win percentage is what gets you in the conference championship game. No Divisions either. So if we go 7-1 with our only loss to Boise and Boise goes 7-0. We would make the conference championship unless you think Hawaii, SJSU, or UNLV is also going 7-1 with their ...

Re: Player opt out at USU not allowed?

Seeing a lot of national guys commenting on it. It looks pretty bad as well because he opted out at Wisconsin after two years and then Oregon State mid-season. I think a normal coach would catch a lot of flack for this but Gary is especially vulnerable to it. "unforced error" is about as spot on as ...

Re: Thompson announces Boise may play less conference games to play BYU

That's fine, but if a team goes 7-0 and another team is 7-1 I think championship tie-breaking should favor the 7-1 team. No it shouldn't. It should be based on win percentage. So if Boise drops a conference game, they risk going 6-1 and not having using head to head to decide the division against a...

My Google research tells me that they lose eligibility if they play in 6 or more games. Is that not correct? Not correct. The NCAA had concerns about players that would sit out half way through the season if they were doing poorly as a team. My take is, this season is weird. Next season will be wei...

At the very least they could have a G5 champion and a P5 champion, and let them play each other for the College championship. Kind of like the old NFL champ playing the AFL champ in the Super Bowl. That would also seem like it would , in time, make recruiting a little more interesting, especially t...

How would a conference stop you from playing football if they decide to cancel the season and you want to play? They might be entitled to TV revenue, but so what?
They can kick you out of the conference and even fine you for breach of contract.

We don't own the media rights. So any media money would go to the conference. Media approval would go through the conference. We would have all the costs of a full season with next to no income. Media rights would be an absolute mess. The big 10 only approves it if they can get good money in the deal. Plus it only takes a handful of "if i can't play you can't play" to block it. I think it would be fun but I don't expect anything to happen there.
