Re: Larry Scott

It is funny Utah fans hate the guy now when he gave them one of the biggest gifts in their history. ONE OF?!! I think it is without question the largest gift, by a very wide margin, ever given to Utah. Utah would be at best Boise State if it were not for Larry Scott. Don't disagree, but the Preside...

Larry Scott

In sports, just like politics, things can change quickly. I remember when Larry Scott was hired by the PAC-10, people were singing his praises about being a genius after he signed a TV contract worth more than any other. https://www.ocregister.com/2011/05/04/pac-12-lands-richest-ncaa-tv-deal/ Now 11...

Re: Urban Meyer to Jacksonville Jaguars

Lets not forget that football cyborg Nick Saban went 15-17 (and lost 3 more games in his 2nd year than his first) in his 2 years as a head coach in the nfl. it's not nearly the same ball of wax as CFB. Yes and Steve Spurrier went 12-20 with Washington. Not sure how well this will work, only a few c...

It's a great play call because they made it. If they hadn't, and they had lost, he would be getting destroyed right now. Coaching is funny that way. To quote the great Gary 1.0, "Players make plays." He rolled the dice and won. Impressive with a backup QB. I am hoping for a repeat title for the Chi...

I love his approach to coaching. I hate that he's a byu guy. That was almost 40 years ago. He has coached Kevin Curtis, Curtis Marsh, and Darwin Thompson. Don't care too much where he went to school at decades ago. I don’t care where he went to school either, I love Andy Reid. He is a great guy. Ra...

You guys are speaking in absolutes. First of all there are many members of the pre-dominant faith in various capacities at USU. She is not one of them, but others are. Some professors undoubtedly feel "pity" while others are bishops etc of the student wards. There is not some plot to make USU a plac...

My guess too...and like I said, you can't say that. She has to know better. What in that statement could she have not said? Recent judicial decisions have come down on the side of saying you can NOT hire someone based solely on a protected class. The USU counsel and HR have made it clear that this ...

Well I'm a Mormon. AND a man (last time I checked). She still hired me. Must've been because I wasn't Polynesian?! This is stupid. Merlin, no disrespect to Bobby, but the 14 straight Pro Bowls is still an NFL record. He was named to the 75th and All Century team. Not sure Wagner would have made that list.

Both phenomenal players.

Not being a downer, just a real question. It is nice that he was a 4 * guy out of High School, but if he was so talented why is he leaving Texas? If his chances of seeing the field were low there, is he really a game changer here? Again I know good players do transfer, just curious more on his backs...

There is no one behind the curtain on this, just very poor judgement by Cockett and Hartwell. If there was a bias issue, I am glad this is happening to uncover it. Classy move. Snide remarks and bitter feelings don't change that. To me not playing against CSU is separate from the potential scandal. A leader gets his team ready and plays that game. It would have done more good for the players, Maile and the university. If it comes out Cockett is anti-mormon an...

If I can share a few personal experiences. As I have previously stated, I know Noelle Cockett. I worked for USU for about 6 years, five of those she was my boss. As a new employee, I had several individual meetings with her to monitor my progress. I also knew her at other professional events. She wa...

Steady boys and girls. There's always a story behind the story. Does the MWC have academic standards for membership ?
Not really, but Boise can barely qualify with those.

I think they tried this, and ended up having to come back when the Big East imploded.
