Re: Pope to Kentucky

If a potential student enrolls at BYU while not a member, they require an LDS leader endorsement in which they commit to living by the Honor Code - no smoking, no drinking, no sex, etc. It would be VERY awkward to have a head coach that didn't comply with those rules recruiting players and telling t...

https://twitter.com/mid_madness/status/1778271159957479560 So how can you be one of the best in mid-major basketball and probably not top 5 in the MWC last year? In no particular order, here's who I would put ahead of him: - Brown - Stevens - Blackshear - Thomas - House And that doesn't include poss...

Re: Queta!!!

Queta had a great game in the G League. I believe it is the championship. 20 points. 13 rebounds. 9-11 from the field. 3 blocks. a steal. (2 TOs.) And to top it off - 0 fouls. Note: The ESPN line shows 9 baskets, 0 3s, 1 FT and 20 points so something doesn't add up. Several of the Celtic starters d...

Here is another player to consider, and he was actually a guard.
If we got Holt, he could help us get Hill to recommit.
Weird math: 2 years at JC, 2 years at Utah, 1 year(?) at SDSU? Even Covid doesn't grant a 6th year, does it?

So does this mean:
1) Tyson didn’t like Muss? Surely he could have succeeded with that much NIL money
2) Muss or his Musses didn’t like Arkansas
3) Muss was urged to move on
4) something else?

Hey if he wants the challenge Utah State can give it to him. I remember taking classes when a 40% was the high. Engineering will kick his butt IF that’s what he wants… I took a grad level stats/math class where we had 14 students. In fall quarter I got a Cminus. I dropped the other two classes in t...

Transferring credits is usually difficult.
USU was my third school. (Evidence that the teen-age mind can be unstable.) Not a single credit from the first two was used for my degree evaluation. Transferring credits is indeed HARD.

An unmentioned dark side of NIL

As we raised our family, we occasionally crossed paths with parents who (for kids as young as 6 years old) were adamant that they needed to push those kids for the financial benefit of a college scholarship. With the reality that there is more money in NIL than there is in (most) college scholarship...

I believe that Worster is injured. (Maybe from throwing a football 80 yards?)

If VCU wins and goes to the final destination (wherever that is), Utah media will not be covering it in detail.
If Utah wins, Utah media will be highlighting the accomplishment.

Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium has been known as The Launching Pad.

Who are the most famous coaches who followed the money to a higher position and crashed and burned? Based solely on their performance as a coach.

I have a few in mind but wonder if it is less common than current opinion here portrays.

Even though college degrees are no longer a point of emphasis (it appears), it still bothers me that when they were supposed to matter Huggins was let go from Cincinnati when the new president discovered that in his 10(?) years as the coach the team had not a single degree among its players.
