Re: Who F***ing Cares???
We still have to make the right hire. As Tim Duryea proved, a rowdy Spectrum crowd doesn't get you to the top of the conference. This. There's no guarantee that the next guy will be successful. I really hope he is, but I fear that one of these times we'll end up with another Duryea. And we will eve...

Re: Great vs Edey
I love discussions about upcoming games!
Obviously our bigs are going to be vital in this game. But I also see the perimeter defense is going to be the aspect I’ll be looking at. We’re a good 3-point defensive team and we’re going to need to be even better than we have been all year.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! They are in the play-in game. They have to play their way into the tournament, because they’re not in the tournament yet. They get the credit/payout because the game is on tv and there is money to be made. But it is not a real tournament game because only 11% of the field has to p...

Even the announcers called it “baby steps to March Madness” on air during the actual broadcast … because you’re not there yet and you still have to get past one more obstacle before you actually get invited to the real Big Dance. But I know all of you know you’re wrong because I haven’t seen one pos...

I am still wondering why what a team did 5,10,or 15 years ago is used to punish this year’s team. Different players, coaches, competition. Who cares what happened years ago. This team didn’t lose in the tournament. In theory, that is a very good point. But unfortunately, the committee controls real...

Can we check back tomorrow or the next day? I hold an unverified conspiracy theory that they don’t run the calculations all at once. Either tomorrow or the next day, I speculate we will make a significant jump.

I don’t want to be that guy but remember that one time we had a coach have a great first year so we signed him to an extension and that coach hasn’t posted a winning record since? Peak Spectrum/Hurd was just as crazy back in 2001-2011, the newer gen students aren’t quite as wild but Grand Canyon has made it a big part of the identity of the school and going there in the first place. That’s my question: What happened? It was more than Wild Bill graduating. You watch YouTube v...

Hey guys, to break up the madness of the last week and to keep myself sane I decided to design a concept jersey based on the new state flag. Re: Danny Sprinkle — make it happen
Fun fact, Sprinkle’s first game in his head coaching career was facing the Aggies. And they should have beaten us too. Fray was a beast in that game. I couldn't recall his name, so I pulled up the box score, and saw that Sam went 17-18 for FTs in that game. I got caught in that internet rabbit hole...

No, this isn’t baseball. No jinxes, curses or any form of mysticism in basketball … just some teams wanted the madness that much more than others.

I’ve heard a number of theories over the years including the bushwacker tag team to some sort of highland battle march in relation to the Scotsman song. And maybe those are the true origins of the motion. But for the majority of students/fans it’s viewed as being symbolic of milking a cow and I find...

I don’t know if this is just a general key to any game but it seems applicable here … physicality and discipline are my keys. Maybe that’s not far off from “score more points” but I think there have been games where just haven’t been willing to play as physical and it costed us. If we are the more p...

As a point of fairness, I have to mention that I met some very respectful and basketball-educated Aztec fans during this past trip to the conference tournament. And I have been forced to reconsider my opinion of San Diego State fans as a whole.

The way you guys felt about Matt Mitchell is how I feel about Degenhart. I’m just not impressed with him at all. But I guess Boise “had to” have a first teamer on there, so just put him on there.

I don’t know if it’s the same streaming set up, but I was able to watch the USU vs Washington State football game while I was in France via the link in the chat room.
Not going to lie, I fell asleep because it was in the middle of the night, but woke up in time for the comeback.

This is a chance for us to see what type of team we really have this year. As everyone has pointed out, we don’t have a lot of opportunities for Quad 1 wins, so I hope the team and students are ready for this one. And I don’t know who is keeping score of preseason expectations, but I, for one, am ha...
