Was Van Grundy right?
A poor gameplan designed to lose so that he can immediately work on building a roster at Washington rather than languish in a low-paying job at a mid-major as they make a tourney run to the sweet 16 or further? About 10 minutes in, we started the Hack a Zack defense which didn’t stop him from scorin...

Re: Washington and Purdue in Big 10 next year
If it’s truly about basketball, then the players, especially Great, are better off to stay and further develop and progress. They wouldn’t have the same opportunity as a low grade Big 10 player or team as a top shelf MW team. I get the money thing. It would be hard to turn down a few hundred K elsew...

Washington and Purdue in Big 10 next year
If Sprinkle goes and wants to be competitive with the top of the Big 10, he’ll probably need different players than we could offer if they transfer from here. Sure, some might be role players or grab a few minutes in garbage time, but to play significant roles or to dominate like Great did this year...

Re: We might be f**ked
Everybody else in the PAC 12 is certainly frantically talking to everybody right now - especially the Big 10. Probably the only ones to get a call back are Washington, Oregon and maybe Stanford. Best case for us is they go and the remnants of the pac 12 back fill with us and others. It would really ...

Or even possible, but the missing piece to be a bonafide tournament team this year would have been to try to grab Kobe McEwen out of the portal. He surely saw the legend and the draft pick that Sam became and as freshman they were comparably skilled players. Bean is a great #2 star , but sometimes s...

I’ve been in both in the past few years. I think they are the same size dome but have the field configured differently. The Holt arena in Pocatello puts the football field puts the field with the end zones under the rounded sides of the dome and the seats against the straight walls - I believe it al...

Re: Future recruiting advice for Odom
My thought is that for “comparable” recruits, you should get players that have a higher likelihood of staying the full 4 years. For instance, knowing what we know now, we would be much better off having started and played Ashworth over Worster this last season as they are “comparable” skilled player...

Solid, has anyone emailed this advice to him yet? Wondering what the response was if so :) Surely, any good coach would make an alias and get on the message board within a day or two of getting hired. How else could they get the expert advice to learn how to do their job. I may actually be Coach Od...

With the new transfer rule, you don’t want to waste too much time, energy and resources recruiting high school kids - spend it recruiting transfers burning their free transfer. There are, as mentioned in other threads,, a couple of exceptions: Aggie legacy kids and (for the most part) mission kids. ...

I will root for BYU over Utah
It’s been a fluid, evolving situation. Myself (and most of us I’d guess) grew up with a healthy disdain for BYU and a bit of a tolerance at worst to a kinship at best with Utah. Since the formation of the WAC, we’ve blamed BYU more for trying to big time us. And they have. The tried to prevent our e...

I sometimes try to sync the tv broadcast with Scotty’s radio broadcast to get a little homerism, but at least half the time I don’t get around to it or forget to do it until the end. Every game that I’ve watched on one of the fox channels or CBS the commentators always make a big deal out of several...

This incident will be a scarlet letter on Frank
Deservedly or not, this will look very bad on Frank for any future coaching opportunities. Possibly, he had nothing to do with it or didn’t even know about it early, but as soon as he found out about it he should have told those players that this is completely unacceptable - to get their butts on a ...

Re: This is so pathetic Aggie fans
Our inability to throw the ball, especially deep, is our worst Achilles heel - and we have a lot of them. It seems that everyone we play is bigger, faster and stronger. Or, conversely, we are smaller, slower and weaker. In order to compete and have a chance to win, we have to be lucky - the ball had...

Time to play (start) the Freshmen and Sophomores
It's just as easy to get blown out with young players who have a chance to learn, improve and get better as it is with Seniors and graduate transfers. I understand that the college football game is to win, and win now. But we weren't competitive at all - not even in the same league as Boise. If you ...

I would like someone, anyone, to say that we were doing everything possible to play, it’s just t...

Re: Football tix refund
I didn’t know that but I get it. Maybe BYU didn’t try very hard for non- football sports, but it looks to me like they’re trying awful hard to play football. And, let’s face it, the only thing that’s drives passion for sports fans is football and, to a lesser extent, men’s basketball. The overwhelmi...

Re: Football tix refund
Very disappointing to me that no one at USU was fighting for a season. Listened to Gary on 1280 a couple of days ago. He said the he was an advocate for NOT playing. If college kids are on campus, college kids should be allowed their activities - classes, dances, labs, concerts and, yes, football. I...

The Shot - No call
It looked, both in real time and in the numerous replays including slo-mo, that Sam was right - he was fouled on THE SHOT. Feagin slapped him on the wrist right as he let it fly. It's possible that without the wrist slap, THE SHOT might have missed, so, of course, I'm real glad that it worked out th...

Scottie has actually given us a portal into the mainstream Utah sports talk world. We’re certainly not in the conversation on the Wasatch front as much as Utah or BYU yet, but I think we’re in it more than we ever have been. And that’s because of Scottie G. Al was great because he was our Al. But we...

Lack of respect
I sometimes get the feeling that Coach Smith doesn’t really give our own broadcast (Scottie G) the consideration or time to always make an after game interview a priority. He always gives the tv an interview but seems to only give Scottie an interview if it’s convenient. I always try to sync the Agg...

Re: Brito just made up for all his choke jobs
Brito played with A lot of confidence. Especially at the end. I like that Brito doesn’t let a missed shot or bad play phase him. He comes back next possession. Milller and porter seem to be playing not to lose after a missed shot. Brito plays to win.

Re: Dallin Hall - Fremont
I do think that Hall would be reasonably successful anywhere he goes - but we would most likely build our team and offensive sets around him. He has the ability to finish at the rim or to snipe from outside. He would probably be a 2000 plus career scorer at Utah State or a good player who contribute...
