Re: Current State of USU Basketball

Any word yet on Wynott @aggies22? His commitment might be more impact full than Great's. Lol an incoming freshman's commitment could be more impactful than the MW Player of the Year's? I guess he theoretically *could* be the next Steph Curry and also willing to stick around at Utah State for four y...

When it comes to NIL, I would bet that wanting is not the same as getting.

I wonder if a lot of the numbers we are hearing are wants, not gets.
What keeps a collective from promising compensation and then claiming the money ran out down the road?

Re: Current State of USU Basketball

If Great leaves, I personally think a need is a bigger, more physical player in the post. I love Big Fish and the addition of Gateretse. But the MWC is a physical conference. Will Templin develop enough to play that role next season? I hope so. But I would like to see another big body veteran (mayb...

Kentucky Twitter is slobbering all over the idea of getting Great. If you search Great on Twitter it's tons of fans hoping/begging for him to come. Re: Current State of USU Basketball

With Martinez and Osobor probably gone, we should pursue Shulga and Mostafa. I suspect that Shulga is consider on the market much less than Martinez while Mostafa is being overlooked. Both players fill a need and probably affordable. Mostafa per 30 stats with TCU was 8.7 points 4.6 offensive reboun...

Thanks for the breakdown. This is an upgrade over Sakho and allows for a Twin Towers rotation if coach wants to run with it.

Re: Current State of USU Basketball

I’m on the verge of dropping college sports fandom all together. I don’t want to, but this is all so disheartening. What’s the point? There is no joy anymore. (I can't express myself without swearing) it all. I had plenty of joy this past year and we did it by bringing up 3 unknowns and a P5 player...

Am I the only one that thinks Ian is probably worth the $200k in NIL money he’s asking for? Like that ask doesn’t seem crazy to me for a player of his caliber in a universe where Dallin Hall wants $600k and Steven Ashworth is getting $400k. Ian is a better player than either of those two. In a vacu...

I guess this how it feels to be a championship or second level soccer team over in England. They get their best players poached all the time, it’s essentially going to become a 2 tiered system now since the ncaa can’t do (I can't express myself without swearing) about it. At the very least maybe th...

Re: Be Great. Stay Great.

Will it be the great reset or the great depression? Reset. Great is a talent for sure, but I think the offense could find better balance if we can bring in a 4 that can play inside and outside. Plus We got some guys who can get to the rim (Albury, Falslev, Uduje) if the paint isn’t clogged. I love ...

Don’t risk your senior year on the unknown. Continue your development with teammates that you know and who will help you succeed. Play for a fanbase where you’re special and remembered and not just another player in a long line of 5 star recruits. You know you can succeed here. You have a coach that...

Great would be smart to look to LaDee as an example of finding the right system and the right competition level for development. Really hope Osobor comes back, but it would soften the blow of losing him and Agbonkpolo if we could land both Gateretse (stetson C) and Newell (Cal F).
Having those two come to campus also puts some pressure on Great and Ian to make up their minds while there’s still roster spots available.

Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker

The player on campus yesterday was the Stetson 7’ center from Belgium. He would give us more length and much more versatility than Sakho. He would be a nice pickup. I’m sure he wants a starting job somewhere but what an upgrade he would be over Sakho. IIRC he had at least 7 schools on his interest ...
