Re: The diversion from playing local FCS teams

I had the opportunity to talk to several South Dakota fans during the lightning delay. They were a really neat fan base. Would like to see us continue to bring in a variety of schools. Don't really like Thursday games, but Fridays are fine. That said, I'm local.

Big Scotty G fan. He does a great call, and his radio show with Hans Olsen is the best sports show we've ever had in Utah. They are extremely fair to the Aggies.

Re: Air Force opens as 11 point favorites over USU

It seems like every year we have this exact thread about the AFA game, with the prevailing thought that we'll handle them easily. We're 3-5 against them since joining the MW. I expect this to be a tough game. Definitely our toughest opponent yet.

Re: Some good expansion news

Am I the only one a bit concerned about the AAC expanding west? Sports Illustrated seems to think it's a distinct possibility. The USU fan in me says the MWC is a better fit for all 3 teams mentioned(Air Force, CSU, BSU). At the same time, at least 2 of those institutions have shown signs of insani...

This is nothing new. It's why I stopped watching the NBA about 20 years ago. It's completely fixed for large market teams. Good business decision for the NBA, bad for anyone who truly cares about the sanctity of sport.

I found it odd last night to hear that Gov. Herbert was exempting collegiate athletics, etc. Not my call; but why not just restrict everything if things are this bad, which they clearly are? He said that college athletic conferences already have COViD protocols in place for the players. The fans ar...

I would love to see @UNLV. If at all possible, I would try to get to that one in the new stadium.
If the Raiders can't have fans, there's no way UNLV will.

So are bowl games still contractually obligated to pick teams from the conferences they are tied with? If not, I could see a lot of MW teams getting snubbed for sub par P5 teams.

I've heard rumblings that We're trying to find an opponent to play to replace SUU. The game would have to be big enough to garner one of our TV partners to cover the game so that the income from the game would be enough to buy out SUU and then some.

Dude had 40 receptions and 2 TDs in his freshman year here in 2016. Could have had Prime Jordan Love throwing him balls. Could have made a name for himself. Could have gone on to the NFL. I think the 10 game schedule is the max. Look at how well things are going for baseball. When you have a sport in which you can't isolate the players in a bubble, you're going to need off weeks to fill in with postponed games.

I still worry about our lack of quality outside receivers. We desperately missed having jump-ball receivers last year. I'm not sure we have really addressed that. Thin at best.

Sorry to be the pessimist. Covid 19 wins this game. There's no way Wazzu makes the trip to Logan, risking exposure to play Utah State.
