Re: Parking at the church

Having a premium tailgate spot is something that other schools do, for example at the U of U they give you a spot which can take care of 20 people with a tent and a 6' ft table that one is $365 per game- you can go as much as 60 guests with most things provided for $1,750 per game. Those up scale on...

Re: USU Best Roster in Program History?

We have not given Smith a raise yet as far as I know. With total ticket sales for all sports only being just over $2 million where is the money going to come from ? We maybe able to pay him $800,000 but that is the max and a real stretch. If Smith has a big year he will be gone so we should sit bac...

Re: Parking at the church

The parking lot for $100 donors is not perfect, but for $100 donors get parking for football, and if they buy season basketball tickets they get that also, so a $100 donor that goes to both sports pay's less for parking than what a person that goes but gives any donation, perhaps they need to increa...

Of course hiring Utah based coach's help's in keeping them in Logan sometimes you get a real good one like Stew other times Kohn Smith is the result. Larry E, and Coach Smith are the ones that may be a little harder to keep.

Re: will their failure at Independence result in instability

YBU is always a concern when it come to conference alignment, They have become very close to Boise in fact they have more games scheduled in the future than what they have with USU at the present time. The future T.V. contract is a bone of contention with MWC membership, some want more dollars other...

Re: Parking at the church

It would be really helpful if the University had enough parking that was open for game days that was not tied to residential areas. Is not the parking where the old trailer park open on game days ? Last I checked it, was and it is huge I believe it has a $10 parking charge. USU parking is large, an...

I find it interesting that football fans expect the team to go as hard as they can, regardless of game times, weather conditions, not getting home until 6 the next morning, playing someone whose fans give them all the best, does not matter, they need to man up face the challenge, but as fans we whi...

Re: Is this the most difficult schedule we’ve ever had?

This year is a very tough schedule for sure. The thing about 1991 was we open at Utah travel to Nebraska, and then Oklahoma in the first three games of the year. After all that to give 25th ranked Fresno there first and only loss that year was priceless. Playing BYU 5 games to 1 in Provo was criminal.

Re: Ranking of MW Coaching Jobs

I disagree with one area USU is near the top in game atmosphere, perhaps second at least. The other rankings are close. I would put the job at 7th or 8th overall. Local Media exposure, recruiting base, and social life are about what was reported..

Re: Is this the most difficult schedule we’ve ever had?

In 1991 we played at Utah, at #14 Nebraska, at #7 Oklahoma, San Jose at Home than at BYU those games were in a row, later that season we played #25 Fresno state and gave them there only loss that season. So 3 top 25 teams plus Utah and BYU on the road was a pretty tough season. Even with that we won...

Re: When you whore yourself out, you’re bound to get the clap

Do we have a wealthy enough alumni base to really drive donations? I've stated before that if we expect fans to take the next step- our school needs to have a much better career center. How are grads expected to have any money when they make $45,000 pre-tax working on a single income with a stay-at...

Re: When you whore yourself out, you’re bound to get the clap

You understand that building a brand requires revenue right ? If USU fans spent $5 million more on tickets and donations, needed a 30,000 plus seat stadium, did not schedule built in losses, then maybe if you are lucky you just might beat a P-5 school. BSU has a home game with Florida state. Money ...

The fans are not playing each other, yes they are. If you do not see the massive advantage that huge money does for a program well I guess we shall never agree. The next level for USU should be winning the MWC, and going to Vegas for a bowl game vs. a PAC-12 school. BSU does not play money games on ...

Re: Looked like Coaches Expected to get dominated all day

I don't think anyone disputes the overall gap in talent-level; the frustration lies in the perception that the coaching staff didn't appear to go into the game with the same zeal we became accustomed to with a GA team. I trust that the players went 100% because they're competitors and it was eviden...

Of course things could have been better, dropped pass. A pick that should have resulted in a T.D. However the facts remain what they are. If other schools in California are doing this no one would need to force private schools in California to do this, they will not want to lose recruits to others that will have this in play.

OSU spends nearly $10 million less in school funds to support athletics than what USU does, now they have a real problem in that they are running deficits. the percentage of their budget that comes from students and university is much lower than what we have.
