Re: Manny Martins hired as women's soccer coach

I just hope he plays with 2 strikers and is more offense oriented. Nothing kills excitement in soccer like packing the back line and hunkering down on defense. I hope he has some plan to win the midfield. it is amazing how that is where the game usually is won or lost. Ain’t nobody playing with two...

I don't give a damn about who any coach happens to be as long as they have a chance to succeed. Re: New transfer from BYU

I've been doing some roster analysis and the more I look at Darius the more I'm starting to love this move. He may make a move up the depth chart once fall camp starts. We scored a mid-three star dude as a walk-on. This didn't cause many headlines but this was a very underrated move. The new coachi...

This is another case of a highly rated kid that has been buried on the depth chart looking to move down and get some playing time. When teams are loaded with high 3*, 4* and 5* guys somebody has to sit. This is a very old story. I'm old enough to remember college football before the current roster/...

Re: Smith hire looking like a train wreck for the U

The meaning behind transfers was more intriguing years ago when the athlete had some skin in the game and had to sit out a year. Now? With no real consequence to transferring, if a kid wants to be closer to home, get a little more playing time, pursue a different degree, or follow a girlfriend, etc...

Re: Do you think the NCAA new rules about limiting contact in practice will lead to more injuries in games?

I think there are many rules out there where the clock just continues to run. This gives athletes down the depth chart a chance to play while also providing a form of mercy to the losing team. There used to be a running clock rule in Utah High School hockey, then parents complained about not gettin...

Great win by the Jazz. No Mitchell, no Conley and they still beat a good Nuggets team behind bogdanovic's 48 points. Jokic shot 9 of 11, but the d on him was still good to frustrate him all night forcing him into making bad turnovers and quite frankly, if you hold the MVP of the league to only 11 s...

Ryan Smith is VERY likely the "wokest" owner in the league. That will come with some real benefits, but I do think the Jazz organization will be very politically active under him. I know Utah tried to institute one of the transgender bills that many states are now either passing or discussing. Ryan...
