Re: NHL to Utah official! What's next?
I'd prefer the name to be something unique, like the Seattle Kraken. I know most don't care, but outlaws and Mammoth are both lacrosse teams in Colorado. Blizzard feels like a copy of avalanche. I don't know of any sports teams called Yeti, but that doesn't feel unique to Utah. Hockey Club is very g...

Technical challenges aside, not a lot of improvements will happen outside of the salt lake valley, and what few do happen will take place in Utah county. Just the way Utah goes.

kentucky twitter is saying that Great is visiting campus today. They are also saying that Arkansas is offering double NIL to anything Kentucky offers so they are worried he might go to Arkansas. He must not be visiting Kentucky today at least, I just saw Great on Utah State’s campus. I hope you too...

I somehow hate the current era of Aggie football far more than I hated any of the Brent Guy years. While the 2007 season ended with us only getting two meager wins, at least we were able to look forward to keeping the guys who contributed to one or both of those wins for the remainder of their coll...

With players all across the country entering the portal (both football and basketball). How long until boosters say enough. Players are going to get their pay day now, but I could see eventually boosters saying enough and deciding to invest their money elsewhere. I’ve said this from day 1. You don’...

Re: Great Osobor
IF Great returns, we would be heavy favorites to start the season, right? If he leaves, I expect our current roster to be in the top 5 again next season. I doubt we would be heavy favorites. We weren't always dominant last season, and Brown bailed us out more than once in the clutch. Very true. He ...

While I understand why people want the eagles, there already is an AHL team in Colorado named the eagles. While there are some teams in the AHL with the same nickname as an NHL team, they're affiliated with that NHL team, so I don't think it likely. I’m not sure anyone cares about that. Eagles is a...

More exposure for college hockey teams? Youth hockey is about to explode. How long until the Utah Grizzlies change parent teams to Utah? Would the Grizz be moved up to the AHL since several NHL teams have their AAA franchise nearby? I'm interested to see what happens with the grizzlies. Is there en...

I really don't like the black diamonds. Completely different sport. It would be like naming a baseball team "the three pointers". I think the trappers or mountain men would be a good name.

Just keep them as the coyotes. Kind of like the sound of the Utah Yotes. They can't. Several articles have more detailed explanations, but the idea is that the Arizona owner is retaining rights to the name and they will be an expansion team if they can find a home in Arizona within the next 5 years.

This is exactly why I'd like to see some collaboration between the G5, lower level P4 schools (maybe), and FCS to create a promotion/relegation system based on regionally affiliated divisions/conferences.trevordude wrote: ↑April 8th, 2024, 9:04 pmIf you kick the serfs off the land, are you still a ruler?

Agree. Unless you are a complete dolt, you are not going to mistake this league for the old PAC conferences. The quick and easy ways to eliminate this (if it is a concern) is to expand the league into a combination that has never existed. The Cougs/Beavs are still living a pipe dream of just return...

Just watched the condensed game. If we get the same refs, it's going to be hard to get him into foul trouble. They let a LOT of physical play go without a call. No complaints, just an observation that it shouldn't be our primary/only strategy.

The only guarantee is right here, right now. Next year we could have another pandemic. The team could be injury laden. The NCAA could implode with top FB schools leaving and March Madness could change forever. You can't be far-sighted when so much change is on the horizon. DS staying guarantees not...

There is a thread about it on their message board. Apparently the coaches haven't been fan friendly, and they botched a renovation of the stadium that ended up making the fan experience worse. They've had declining attendance for a few years, it would seem.
